I've had the fan about a week and a half. Last summer on eBay i got a smaller version of it, Honeywell 12", about two feet high, with remote, white. I bought it because i thought the remote sounded like a good idea. It's always worked well, i like it a lot. I was looking for another one because it gets hot enough here to need two fans going at once. I have a Vornado, but i decided to use that in another room and wanted another remote control fan for the pair i have in the living room. I couldn't find the size i already have, it seems they've discontinued it. So, i read the Amazon reviews on this fan and it seemed worth a shot. I'm very happy with it. For me, it's not too loud. I like the sound of a fan, it reminds me of lazy summer days. I'm not sure what a quiet fan would sound like. I would never have noticed the sound of this one. It's powerful, the remote works perfectly, and the remote controls my other one too, a nice bonus, only one remote to deal with. From my reclining chair, i can command both fans. I feel pampered. I think the fan looks pretty good too. I had no trouble assembling it. It's lightweight and easy to move around.
