I could not be happier with my Honeywell HHT-011
Compact Air Purifier with Permanent HEPA Filter.
I was recently diagnosed with asthma, and my
specialist strongly recommended a HEPA air unit.
Being new to the purified air issue, I did quite a
bit of research to learn about HEPA technology
and what's available. I couldn't believe it when I
found this dandy little unit. I've live in a publicly
funded nursing home - I have some other disabilities
beyond the asthma - and so have few dollars and big
needs. The HHT-011 supremely fit my budget and
health requirements. The first morning of use I awoke
with an energy level seeming to be that of what I had
20 years ago. The home is super dusty(TV, computer
CRT accumulations, etc.) - what a great improvement!
Smoking is controlled but allowed in the building -
no irritating 2nd and 3rd hand smoke in my nice "clean
air haven" room anymore. And typical nursing home
odors are completely removed - PERFECTION with
relieved lungs. I saw many reviews during my buying
research saying this unit was noisy. I have both air
conditioning and blower-forced hot air heat. On
high the HEPA unit is quieter than the AC on Low
Cool(24 hours during summer) and the heater on
Medium(all night during winter). Moreover, the
"white noise" background from the HEPA unit even
without the AC or heat is comforting and blocks
usual nighttime groans and shouts from the other
residents. I give this Honeywell HHT-011 HEPA
air purifier a super A+++ both for performance
and price. HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!!

I love this air purifier. I remember the first night I slept with it on (it was a little noisy next to the bed) and I woke up being able to breathe.
I have chronic congestion due to some messed up sinus passages/tonsils/something going on that I need to diagnose eventually. So it's frustrating waking up every morning with a dry throat because I've been snoring all night or breathing through my mouth because my nasal passages are clogged.
After just moving into a new apartment where cats dwelled (although I'm not allergic to cats! they are just dusty) and other particulates were largely abound, I needed to find a solution fast. I was waking up with the usual congestion. I bought this air purifier with a pretty hopeful attitude, and I've been using it every day for over a month now. I love it. I highly recommend it as a purchase.
It's a little loud. If you have a loud family, you won't even notice its existence. If you are used to hearing pin drops around the house, you won't enjoy the noise. But if above all you car about air quality in your home, this device is exactly what you're looking for.
I've never had an air purifier before but this one made a noticeable difference. It's definitely not just in my mind. It has an ion mode or something but I haven't noticed its effectiveness. I also haven't played with room placement, but I keep it about 6 ft off the ground and 1 ft from the wall on a shelf. I would probably get even BETTER performance if I put it elsewhere. Buy this product.

Last Friday we made the mistake of going to the Humane Society to "look" and came home with a kitten. We already had an adult cat, and I am only mildly allergic to him.
Well she sheds like crazy, and I woke up Saturday with my face swollen, congested and just plain miserable. I ordered this last Saturday, it arrived on Tuesday and it's been doing a great job so far.
There is already an air quality difference between the bedroom (where this Honeywell is) and the living room. Our bedroom had a musty winter odor before, now it's smells super clean. I already noticed that there is less cat hair on my comforter.
My husband is also a smoker, I never realized how bad the smell was until I woke up this morning and walked out into the living room. I almost gagged. I walked back into the bedroom to make sure I wasn't loosing it, and sure enough there was a major difference between the two rooms.
It is a bit noisy, but we keep it on medium. However I am one of those people who has a hard time sleeping without the tv, not anymore. The minute I am in bed, I am out.
My husband who told me today that he hasn't slept with the fan on since we bought the Honeywell (he likes the white noise).
Another thing is that we noticed a temperature difference in that room, it's much cooler. This might be a problem for other folks, but we also like a cooler bedroom.
I think it's very likely we will buy one of these for every room!

I have only had this air purifier for less than a week, but I am amazed at the results. After the first night of using this in my bedroom, I woke up and could actually breathe. My nose is normally clogged in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to stop sleeping with nasal strips soon! Also, my dog has had watery eyes for a while and has been having a runny nose the past month or so. I didn't even think about the purifier helping with this problem. I happened to notice after the first night of using the purifier, her eyes were not wet around them like they normally are and her nose was not running. I also purchased a larger purifier to use in the living room, so hopefully that will help both my dog and myself for times other than while sleeping.
The noise isn't too bad, but I am used to sleeping with a humidifier. The high setting would be too loud to sleep with. I use it on the medium setting during the night and my humidifier is also on medium during the night. The humidifier is definitely louder than the air purifier.
I would definitely recommend this air purifier to others. I may even purchase one to take to my parents' house and use there when I stay overnight. My dad smokes and my eyes, nose, and throat are typically burning after one night. Maybe the purifier will help clear the air in the room I sleep just a bit. I'm sure my mom will also run it 24 hours a day while I'm gone to help with the smoke!!

It's a little smaller than I thought it would be and the only room it could completely filter would be a VERY tiny room, like a dinky dorm room. The ionizer sometimes makes a small popping sound when it's on, which is tolerable, however when the ionizer is on there is a green light that comes on that is impossible to sleep with if the filter is facing you, so the ionizer is really just a day-time function (unless you put some duct tape over the light). This is a fairly quiet filter, which means that it's not very strong. Those huge round Honeywell filters are very noisy, which I like because it means they are powerful. Those filters are meant for entire rooms. However its portability is very useful, and you can place it on a windowsill (if it's an old fashioned big windowsill, otherwise you'd have to prop it up on something) and it will suck in the outdoor air. This way it freshens up a room much faster than any big filter can. You can also angle it at your bed so that it blows away all the allergens around your sleeping area and gives you a cocoon of fresh air to sleep in. I use this AND a big Honeywell filter in my little studio apartment, and as a result dust and stuffy air is a thing of the past.
For the mild allergy sufferer, or the people who don't have allergies but just want to freshen up the air, this is perfect. If you have severe allergies then this is useful to have along with a bigger filter.
