I read several reviews before deciding to purchase this product. I was glad to receive it. I simply took it out of the box, put it in the window, plugged it in and was enjoying the comfort of cooler air from outside while removing hot air from inside. I set one fan to remove hot air, and one to bring in cool air. I actually bought it for my niece and she uses it every day. I looked and reviewed many other fans but decided on this one. I am happy with my purchase, I actually bought 2. The second one is used in a different room and both cool the entire house nicely. I recommend this product for the ease of use, the great price, and the uncomplicated way the controls have been set up. If you want a fan that is not expensive, easy to set-up and use, then you should consider this one. It is also not heavy, or cumbersome which increases the ease of use and set-up. This fan was in use continuously last summer in my kitchen window from May though October and now this season also with no problems. One of the best things about this fan is that it is narrow enough to sit on the window ledge with the window screen closed. It is strong enough to pull fresh air in and stale air out through the window screens.
However, some of my windows like the kitchen window are the crank open type and the handles even though they are the tuck in type take up ledge space making the fan unsteady. Fixed this problem by buying a roll of industrial strength Velcro and putting a strip on the narrow bottom of the fan and a strip across the the window sill ledge and viola the fan stayed in place. Velcro kept my kitchen window fan from blowing off the ledge in a sudden gust.
I purchased 2 more of these fans yesterday from Amazon.

On a scale of 1 to fan, this one is definitely a fan!
My wife and I live in a turn-of-the-century brownstone in Mpls. We're on the top floor, which gets a little warm. We didn't want to waste the electricity that an A/C uses, so we got this fan for the bedroom.
It fits nicely in the window, the thermostat works, the electronically reversible thingy lets me reverse the fans electronically, and with the bedroom door open, it actually moves air through the rest of the apartment - on low!
I keep it on low. Given the amount of air it moves on low, I'm afraid that if I try the highest settings, it'll suck pedestrians off the street three stories below, chop them up and spit them into my apartment. Which will make my wife angry. You don't want to make my wife angry. You won't like her when she's angry.

Lasts for years. I've been using one almost daily, sometimes every day for weeks, and it just keeps going, over 4 years now. I have 4 of these in two homes. I have tried others, and they've burned out, or just didn't push enough air to accomplish anything. I've given them all away and just get these now.
I will say, the wing adjustment is finicky at times, but it's better than any other window fan I've tried.
Highest volume is loudish, but the volume is so much more than any other window fan I've tried you have to wonder how it does it, or what the others don't bother doing, like maybe engineering the product.

Customer Review: Made my condo comfortable w/o A/C

I was looking for a really good fan b/c my A/C is not working and it needs to be replaced. My neighbor highly recommended the Honeywell Twin Window Fan b/c the other she bought from another store was terrible. I was able to order it online since most stores were sold out of most fans and received it in less than 5 days. I love it. It is very powerful over other fans for some reason I don't know. My condo feels rather comfortable even in the heat and the air circulates b/c it's so strong. I'm very pleased. Wish I had one in other windows. At night, it actually gets cool. She bought two more to have one in all of her windows and canned the other one she bought that's terrible. Again, I have a condo - one level. I'm not trying to cool or comfort a 2 or 3 level house or large living area. So, I'd recommend it.
