Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell HW-628 Enviracaire Twin Window Fan

Customer Review: An adorable fan
Summary: 5 Stars

I had this unit for about a month now and it has been it has been a workhorse in keeping me cool this summer. It has a slight audible whine and increases somewhat at higher speeds but not enough to disturb me (I had been using a 20 inch box fan that moves about the same amount of air for a penalty of 3 times the noise and didn't even fit in my window). I appreciate the temperature control which stops the rotation of the propellers when it reaches your adjusted setting then restarts them when the air goes above your comfort level. I highly recommend this unit as an alternative to running a power guzzling air conditioner.

Customer Review: Real Quality Unit
Summary: 5 Stars

We searched on the net for a week, and had given up when we saw the Honeywell unit at CVS on special. We got one and we liked it so much we picked up three more! It is very quiet, powerful and the temperature controls work great. Very solid unit and no rattles or hum like some others we saw and tried. We figure by using these when it cools off outside in the evenings we will save a bundle on air conditioning, which we now use only when it stays hot out at night here in New Jersey. We are only sorry our windows in the office are too narrow for this unit, so we will have to find another solution there.

Customer Review: COOL FAN THAT IS EASY TO USE & DOES A GREAT JOB
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this fan after I saw a similar one on a news report about ways to help keep cool. This fan has been great. I have it set up in the master bedroom. The two sides can be controlled separately. You can have one to blow cool air into the room while the other blows the warm room air outside, or you can have them both blowing in or out. It has a sort of auto setting so that it can kick on by itself when it gets too warm in the room. The sides extend out for it to fit to your window size and it can also be used vertically, there is a bracket attachment for that. I am very happy with this fan.

Customer Review: 2 years and still going
Summary: 5 Stars

2 years and it's still going. I have set it up in my kitchen window starting in spring and take it down before winters arrival. When the AC is on I simply cover the fans with 2 paperplates so as not to lose any of the AC. Granted, the paper plates many not be so pretty but it does the job.

When the weather is a bit cooler outside but still hot indoors, this fan does the job I personally bought it for! I have been asked a few times whether I had the AC on when in fact it was just this little fan doing it's thing. All in all I am very pleased and hope to get many more 'cooler' years with it.

Customer Review: Great fan - lowering my utility bills
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these fans to try to help cool down my house in the summer. They have worked wonderfully. I have one on the second floor, and one in the basement. They are pretty quiet for how much air they move and they thermostat function is very useful. I don't like to leave my ceiling fans on overnight because sometimes it gets quite cool in the house. But I have set these fans to shut off when it gets below about 60 degrees outside. They've really helped to pull the cool air from the basement up through the house and it's helped me keep the house comfortable without air conditioning.
