I cannot survive winter without this humidifier, instant warm steam as soon as you switch on. However, it is a bit noisy to be used overnight in bedroom, so I use it in my living room.Customer Review: This is OK. It works as it is suppose to.

This humidifier works as you would expect. The mineral build-up on the
heating plate can be easily removed using vinegar, as stated in the manual.
Design of the water container makes it difficult to fill water. It doesn't stand on it own, and there isn't a handle to hold when you are filling water.
The sound of boiling water is a little louder than I have expected (at night).

The water reservoir can't sit flat while filling and so must be supported the entire time. The humidifier has an interlock formed by a plastic peg in the power section. This was not long enough to reliably push the switch in the base. After gluing a thin layer of cardboard to the plastic peg the unit works well and reasonably quietly. Not worth the current price of $60.Customer Review: avoid this humidifier

Looks great on delivery: many light-up gizmos. The "3-gallon" water portion holds perhaps 2 gallons. Vapor is indeed released as steam--more vertically than horizontally. It is therefore more efficient as an inhaler than a humidifier.
Nothing in Amazon's presentation indicated that filter pads were necessary. Thus what had seemed an advantage--the absence of replacement filers, e.g.--was undone when I operated this humidifier.
With weekly cleaning--per instructions--mine died after less than 3 months. I have junked it.
A great disappoointment. The previous Honeywell warm air humidifier was infinitely better designed and,
with proper care, lasted two years.
DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. IT IS DISCOUNTED FOR GOOD REASON.
