I have used several different humidifiers with varying degrees of success. Hopefully they should "dump" water into the air queitly and not require maintenance. The other's have all failed in some fashion. The Honeywell unit performs very well. It's very quiet (this is important), and will push moisture for @ 10 hours before requiring a refill (about 2 gallons). I always use reverse osmosis water in the unit, and clean a very minor layer of scale every 3 weeks with vinegar. Also, it's built very well. I would definately purchase this humidifier again.Customer Review: no more sleepless nights!

intially I went out & bought a Bionaire humidifier but it was so noisy we could'nt sleep and we turned it off and returned it. The store did not have too many other models to choose from and after researching on the internet we found one. We had no luck finding this model in the store so we thought of Amazon and there it was. It arrived quickly and best of all it lived up to its reviews. We now sleep comfortably and quietly thanks to Honeywell and Amazon. Thanks for carrying a great product. its quiet efficient and easy to fill and clean.Customer Review: Honeywell 450 Vaporizer

Excellent product. Suggest those that buy and use this product that you place the vaporizer at the lowest point in the room you intend to use it, otherwise you will not achieve maximum benefit. I had no problem in securing the sponge minerial pads from Kaz, nor did I have any problem acheiving the desired humidity level I chose. The only problem with this unit is removing the minerial deposits from the heating plate. Cleaning must be done weekly and scraping is the only sure method of removing the deposits left on the heating plate.Customer Review: Very nice

This is my third humidifier in two seasons. I couldn't live with the noise of the cool-mist humidifiers!
For the price it works very nicely even for relatively large sized rooms. Scale is an issue, and the mineral pads help (which by the way are quite cheap), but I still had to hookup a wire brush with my dremel to scrub the scale away every weekend. I guess you can't get a good humidifer without any issues (noise, mold, white dust, scale etc). For me, this worked out the best among all options.

I just bought my second one from Amazon. It has all the essential features like humidity control and time control, yet still has a reasonable price. I had my first one last winter and really liked it. Clean it everyday (tip: put a little vinegar on the plate, wait for 10 minutes, and then use a toothbrush clean it) and it'll keep working. Don't buy ultrasonic humidifiers. I had an ultrasonic humidifier. Although silent, it generates too much white powder. Besides, it is prone to bacterial contamination.
