After reading everything on Amazon and ensuring that this would work with my heat pump, I made the jump and bought it... no regrets! Operationally, this thing is ideal - easy to program, easy to override (two different ways) and just easy to understand. Installation was left to a pro -- I'm pretty savy but the last thermostat was installed by a contractor that didn't know what he was doing and I wasn't comfortable knowing which wires were which. No regrets.
The HVAC contractor commented that this was a VERY good unit.

This Honeywell TH6220 Thermostat is the best I have ever owned. It is easy to program and adjust. Wiring this thermostat is easy unless you own a Lennox heat pump(which I do) The Lennox heat pump is a good machine but they don't use standard wiring schematics. A quick call to my Lennox dealer and resolved the problem. Even after all that, I've had this unit for a couple years with no problems. Great buy!Customer Review: Excellent Digital Thermostat

I originally bought a single-stage Honeywell Digital Thermostat, but it was the wrong one. Apparently I needed a two-stage thermostat for a heat pump. This thermostat did the trick and was easy to install. It has a number of enhanced features that allow you put it in an automatic setting so you don't have to switch between heat and cool. Very Versatile Thermostat. Will easily program to work with a number of different types of systems such as heatpump, oil and gas, electric, multistage units. I am very impressed with this one. Highly recommended!
