I am an Air conditioning technician for 9 years. The Vision PRO 8000 is the best thermostat ever made, in my opinion. It has auto-changeover, intelligent recovery, seven-day programming, hold, arm-chair programming, it is not cheap feeling like many thermostats you buy from home depot. It works with any system including two and three stage heat pumps. The touchscreen can be slightly non-responsive, although I have never had a callback or complaint with one of these thermostats. The one in our office is absolutely trouble free and saves us a lot of money and time. I cannot believe that Consumer Reports rated another brand higher, that brand does not have auto-changeover or work on heat pumps. We give a lifetime guarantee on these thermostats because they absolutely never(yet) break down.Customer Review: An excellent thermostat

I bought this to replace an old 'yo-yo' Honeywell. The old unit worked perfectly, but I wanted something programmable. The interface is well thought out and clean; the menus are easy to understand -- it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for, making the manual almost superfluous; and it is dead-on accurate in terms of temperature sensing. The hard part for me was figuring out what kind of HVAC system was in my house, as I never wired one of these up before. It was a piece of cake once I figured out what I was working with -- a 4 wire system, 1 heat zone, 1 cooling zone. I connected the 5th wire (ground) so I could have the backlight on all of the time. I am happy with this unit, and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a fully programmable unit with a touch screen.Customer Review: Great Thermostat

Easy set up, just make sure you read all of the installation instructions. Some of the features the thermostat has are not active out of the box and require you to turn them on. The thermostat it self is very easy to use and program. I now have more control than I ever did and am able to keep the house at a comfortable level all the time. It is nice to never have to mess with the thermostat and the Auto Changeover feature is great! It heats the house in the morning and cools it during the day. One other feature I found handy is a circulation feature on the fan. It will run the fan 35% of the time to keep the air in the house moving. If you are thinking about purchasing a new thermostat get this one, you will be happy.Customer Review: Great Thermostat

This was an upgrade from a 5-2 programable thermostat. The 7 day programability is a great option for that house with varried schedules, like ours. It took 15 minutes to install and about the same to program - worked great first time. This thing is loaded with options that we'll likely never use, but some might. A nice feature is being able to remove the unit from the wall for programing. We've had it for about three months now and it works flawlessly. The touch screen is cool and works great. The backlight is powerful - makes programing in a darkened room quite easy. Temporary temperature adjustments are easy ... using the unit is quite intuitive, even for my technophobic wife. I replaced my older Honeywell 5-2 day programmable thermostat... all I am thinking now is what took me so long to purchase this! This seems far more accurate, the temperature is much more consistent than my old thermostat and it couldn't be any simpler to install, program and use. You set it and walkaway it does the rest. All the needed information is always displayed on the large display (unlike my old thermostat). I also have the outdoor sensor but I have yet to install it, I can't wait to give this a try seems like it will be a handy little add on.
So, for just a few dollars more (if you shop around) over Home Depots best Honeywell this is hands down the way to go!
