Household heating systems in the winter and air conditioners in the summer remove indoor air of its natural moisture. The lungs and respiratory tract are dependent on moisture to function effectively. The humidifier provides proper humidity levels to keep your respiratory system moist and helps relieve cold and flu symptoms and irritated and itching skin and eyes. The motor driven impeller draws up water through its pickup tube, then propels the water by centrifugal force against the screen and battle to provide a fine vapor which is released into the room air. Customer Review: I like it.

I needed a vaporizer that makes some noise, but not too much noise (I like a little white noise). It puts out a nice steady stream of moisture. I use it on my night stand with a towel under it, hanging over the edge to protect the front of the stand, and it never stains the stand from water. I had a previous model (which was louder) and had it for almost two years. It rusted from constant use. This is a good replacement. The basin is a little more flimsy than the past model, but it doesn't really hurt the product. It holds a lot of water, and is easy to refill. The refill cartridges are easy to replace. Note: with my new one it did make rather a lot of noise just the first use, for some reason. I purposely ran it through the afternoon, assuming the first run might be uneven. It was, and it did run smoothly later that evening. So, don't judge it on the first few hours. Another note: with the previous model, I would run it one night, pour a little more water in it the second night, back up to the line, and rinse it the third night. This has kept it from growing mildew, without having to rinse it too often. Oh yeah - Amazon has two models, one with a letter after it, and one without. From what I can tell, they are the same. I ordered the one with the letter (for free shipping) and it does not have a letter after the model number on the box itself.
