Tools and Hardware Reviews of Window FanCustomer Review: The only fan for my window Summary: 5 Stars
I live in an upstairs apartment with very small windows in the bedrooms. In the summer, it can be over 10 degrees hotter in the apartment than it is outside. I shopped around extensively for a duel fan that would fit in our 13.5" window frames. Almost every other brand is at least 14". This fan fits in the window perfectly! Each fan has independent controls, so that they can be set at different speeds, turned on or off independently, and set so that one intakes and one exhausts to circulate the air. Both fans can do either intake or exhaust. There is also a rotatable grate in front of each fan to direct the air flow. It has a thermostat which will turn off the fans when the desired temperature is reached and back on when the room gets too warm again. I bought my first one almost four years ago, and it stayed in the window constantly from late spring through fall. I let the thermostat keep the animals cool while I was away without having to worry that they would get too cold. After four years of faithful service, the right side fan is beginning to squeak a bit, but it still runs fine. I purchased my second fan last year, and it comes with a bracket that you can screw into the window casing which will allow the fan to be hung sideways in the window, allowing the accordion-style side panels to close off the gaps in Chicago-style windows that one of the other reviewers complained about. I'm so happy with this fan that it is already on my wish list again so I can put one in the other window!
Customer Review: Order the $39.99 versus $29.99 Fan and Save S/H Summary: 5 Stars
Fan works great. I used industrial strength Velcro to hold it up against my crank open type window/sill. Stays put and kicks out the cool air. There is a reverse on it so it will also blow out warm inside air to the outside.
There is a reviewer who said NO DIFF between the $29 and $39 Honeywell fan other than Target added model numbers to avoid match price checking. Order the Amazon $39.99 Honeywell fan with FREE SHIPPING because the 29.99 fan has a $10.47 S/H fee so the total is $42.26 for this $29.99 fan which you won't find out until the bitter end of filling out all the on-line screens. Target charges STATE TAX IN ANY STATE TARGET HAS A BRICK AND MORTAR STORE. Save time and money and order the $39.99 fan.

Customer Review: Great Fan Summary: 5 Stars
This has to be my favorite fan ever! Have cheaper models including Honeywell that work okay, but this is definitely quietest! I love it because it's so easy to position blades to direct the flow of air; the thermometer REALLY works on this model unlike on other fans I own; and with just the flip of a switch you can change one or both fans from exhaust to bringing the fresh air in. Also, although I definitely do NOT recommend it, I accidentally left my fan on during a severe rain storm and it got soaking wet, it continued to work throughout the storm and is still working. So, it is obviously very well made. I plan on replacing all of my other window fans with this model.
Customer Review: Excellent fan! Summary: 5 Stars
I love these fans so much, I've purchased five! We live in San Diego, so don't need to use the AC, so these guys fit right in the window and bring in the cool night air. The only drawback is if you have narrow window ledges: it won't fit very well, but you can use the accordion pull-outs to help adjust. Luckily our home is older and our ledges are wide. We did have a very windy day recently and the fan blew out of the window onto the hard floor below. The plastic cracked a bit, but the fan still runs like a top! I highly recommend this brand. I've also used the exhaust feature when the kitchen grill got smoky and it cleared the room quickly.
Customer Review: a BREEZE to install Summary: 5 Stars
This window fan is ideal for a small area such as the kitchen. It is able to exhaust air and is mountable (allowing you to place it anywhere in the window). Yes, I have stronger/better fans, but this is ideal for the kitchen or office where you don't want strong wind flow (disturbing your lit stove or paperwork and blowing dust). Reguardless how good your fan is, a fan placed in the window is by far more effective of cooling an area. When cooking, it may be more effective to exhaust the heat from oven than to add air, and this machine allows you to either or both and the mounting option allows you to place exactly where you want it.
