Customer Review: my window fan
Summary: 5 Stars

works great in my kitchen with using the oven it keeps my whole kitchen cool great fan

Customer Review: Powerful and Easy to Set Up but with Two unfortunate Issues
Summary: 4 Stars

This fan is great, and all the reviews have accurately described its positive attributes. It's powerful, not too loud, and, so far, durable. It is more than adequate for ventilating a small bathroom, and my guess is that it could easily ventilate 100 or 200 square feet. The highest setting is vigorous. I'm using it for bathroom dehumidification and it's stellar.

Two minor issues: The fan, when off, allows quite a bit of airflow. I wish the fan offered a solution--something like --so that one could shutter it if one were heating the house and didn't want to lose it.

Second: The thermostat makes no sense. Maybe it's just me. It has a 'high' and 'low' with continuous increments, and the fan does turn on or off depending on the dials setting. But I don't understand whether it goes on if the temp goes above the setting or if the temp goes below the setting. Presumably, as it's nether strictly a heating nor cooling device, it should do either. As a result I just don't use this feature.

Customer Review: Well constructed fan. Relative Quiet.
Summary: 4 Stars

This fan works very well and is relatively quiet at low. I found the construction sturdy. The temperature control knob allows you to easily turn off both fans with a simple twist to a higher temperature. The front grills do come off for cleaning (though I wish the whole front came off). It's rain resistant -- another plus since I have it inserted in the storm window so that I can close the window if I want to.

Two construction problems: the extensions do go out to 38" but will not hold -- they kept slipping back. I finally ended up shimming the extensions to get them to stay in place. Secondly, the tabs that lock to keep the extensions in place is on the outdoor side of the fan -- as someone else said, this is a definite design flaw. Fortunately, I have it installed on a first floor window where I could go outside to lock the tabs.

Customer Review: Same Fan Less $5
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had two of these for a couple of years now and they work great in our bedrooms; during the day, they pull the cooler air from the front of the house to the back, and at night they pull in the cooler air from outside and keep the air circulating. They do make some noise, but nothing extreme. They're quieter than a box fan and are conveniently out of the way.

I see that people are wondering what the difference is between the Honeywell HW-628 and the Honeywell HW-628-TGT; the only difference is that Target (aka TGT), like many other retailers, adds to their part numbers so they can say "We'll match/beat anyone's price" - and then get out of it because the part numbers aren't the same.

Customer Review: bargin fan
Summary: 4 Stars

i am still trying to figure out how this fan and the other honeywell fan differ (other than this is 24.99 and the other is 39.99). mine has the exact features as the more expensive one even though this is described as a bargin unit. this has the individual fan controls, directional grills, thermostat.... i would advise since this product is 24.99 to purchase something else too so you can take advantage of the free shipping. i didnt really need anything else so i picked up a 1.99 cat toy and got the free shipping instead of forking out the 14 bucks shipping would have cost without the additional purchase!
