Customer Review: Wrong filter but...service was excellent

This filter is a generic repalcement part and I thought I was ordering a genuine Hoover part. The generic filter did not properly fit my Hoover vacuum, so I contacted the owner and he sent me the a genuine Hoover filter at no extra cost. I shipped the generic filter back to him and have been extremely happy with the Hoover filter he sent me the second time. While the part was not right the customer service I recieved from this company was excellent!! My advise would be if you are unsure if the product you are ordering is correct for your vacuum call the owner he is more than willing to help you with your order. After reading through a variety of Filter Replacement Reviews, I decided on Hoover HEPA Replacement Cartridge Filter, 40140201. I am very pleased with the product as it is identical to the original Cartridge purchased with the vacum cleaner. There were other Filters that are washable or generic at a lower price, however, I prefer to purchase a brand that stands up to excellence in quality. Hoover is a product I trust. I would like to add that the Cartridge was easy to install.

I've had a Hoover Savvy (U8174900) for two years now, and have experienced reduced vacuum power and "dusty" odors. Decided to replace both filters, the cartridge filter (this one) and the final filter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPECRQ/105-4288942-6458034, see separate review). It took a while to make sure these are the right match for my model and find the right seller, but finally it turned out great. I bought a generic filter for our Hoover vacuum a while ago and was very disappointed. Even more so when I finally ordered a real Hoover filter. The generic ones do not fit right (at least in our vacuum) and don't let you spin the filter inside the canister in order to knock the dirt off. The Hoover filter is also made of a better material than the generic ones. Much more sturdy. So don't buy a generic just to save a couple dollars.Customer Review: A needed replacement

After 4 years, my machine needed a replacement filter. I searched for a fair price for a while and started to worry that my machine might be too outdated, but this one fit my machine perfectly. I also washed the old one, even though it says not to do so on instructions, and I think I will get a little more life out of it, but for cleaner air, a new one is the way to go.
