Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hoover Tempo Widepath Upright Vacuum, BaggedCustomer Review: Great vacuum for the money Summary: 5 Stars
You could say dirty floors are my pet peeve. With that stated, I also say this vacuum is a great value. I have had this vacuum for about 8 months and now use it as my main push vacuum (I also use a Roomba). It is easy to maneuver, cleans the carpet well, and is lightweight enough to use on stairs. In addition to the Hoover Tempo and Roomba, I also have a 15 year old Hoover WindTunnel which is too heavy for me to use on stairs and a 6 year old Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum (rated a best buy in Consumer Reports when I purchased it) which does not pick up dust and dirt as well as this Hoover Tempo.
I have a lot of tile in my home. The Hoover Tempo tends to sling as much of the dust and dirt as it picks up when I run it on the tile. So I use the Roomba instead.
As a busy mom, I do delegate chores to my kids. Vacuuming is one of the easier chores I delegate. My kids tend to be rough on vacuums. My Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum has been "broken" by my son several times - requiring several hours of repair by a disgruntled husband. This Hoover Tempo however has been used by my kids since we got it and is still working perfectly.
The cord is a little shorter than most and that can be a nuisance. I either change electrical sockets frequently or add and extension cord. Problem solved.
Customer Review: Read this before buying a $300+ vacuum cleaner Summary: 5 Stars
Because we had indoor pets and vacuumed frequently, we used to purchase $300-500 vacuums. We assumed that cheaper models would not clean as well and need to be replaced frequently.
After buying our 3d expensive vacuum over the course of 5 years, I decided to get an inexpensive one. All our high-end vacuums died too quickly and were expensive to service. Seeing the reviews on this model and a price tag of $50 (a few years ago), I was happy to give this one a try. If it ended up in the garbage after 6 months, so be it.
This vacuum lasted 3 years with no problems and never had to spend a dime on expensive servicing. We ordered another one recently and couldn't be happier with this investment. It has really powerful suction, is light weight and easy to use.
In addition to saving $250+ in the initial purchase, there were no $80-150 servicings. We had to service our Dyson 1-2 times per year to keep it functioning well. I'm convinced they did little more than change out the belts but since there was no obvious way for me to do this, we paid our local repair shop to do it. This Hoover has belts that can be bought at Target for $5 and easily replaced at home.
I'm not really into appliances, so for me to write 5 paragraphs about how happy I was with this purchase says a lot.
Customer Review: Great value Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very good vacuum. Loads of power and not that noisy. It does tip over when the accessories are used. But that is good because the brush always spins.
The cord is a little short, but just put a heavy gauge extension cord on it, or rewire it with the long cord from your old vacuum.
You have to unscrew 4 screws to change the bag - be careful so as not to damage the plastic holes. This is my biggest concern. I will be looking to replace the screws with a quick-off connector from the hardware store. I will then epoxy the quick connector in and be done with it.
It cleans quite well against the wall.
I think this vacuum is a stripped down model, same basic layout and, most importantly, same strong 12 amp motor.
The vacuum has no discernible smell when running - good filtration. It is not self-propelled, but the brushes pull it along so that it is not heavy to use. I prefer a bag over bagless personally.
It works good on tile - I would say a rating 7 of 10 on tile cleaning.
Overall, a 5 star for the price. I would put it up against any vacuum in terms of vacuuming carpet. If the dirt is gone, how much better can it be?
Excellent value. It is good out of the box and great with a few simple mods explained above.
Customer Review: Great vacuum Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great vacuum. We've had it about a month now and I've used it 3 or 4 times in our 3-bedroom home. We've had absolutely no problems with it.
The suction power is unbelievable and the overall performance is much better than vacuums costing many hundreds more. It has all the tools I'll need. The cord length is not a problem for us. I can vacuum 3/4 of our largest room before I have to replug it into another socket. Frankly, I don't consider that a "problem" or a "defect." As for the noise...come on, this is a vacuum cleaner, not a refrigerator or a lamp. Of course it's a little loud. But it's not like we have to listen to it for hours on end. This version doesn't have a headlight or a bag-full indicator. I don't vacuum in total darkness and indicator lights often malfunction or give false readings. It's very easy to snap off the front panel and visually check on the bag. So again, these are non-issues for me. I'm more interested in how the vacuum cleaner vacuums, and this one does a great job.
It's hard to believe that something this good costs only $76. After dealing with the mess of emptying out the container on our former bagless vacuum, we definitely wanted to get one that was a bagged version. And we weren't interested in spending $700 on one either. The Tempo Widepath is a fantastic value.
Customer Review: The Best Vacuum You'll Ever Find! Summary: 5 Stars
We recently purchased the Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum, and I can honestly say it is the best vacuum I've ever used.
My wife & I have been together for 10 years now, and in that time we have gone through 4 other vacuums. The first one was an older bag type vacuum, and the other 3 were all bagless type vacuums.
If your thinking about buying a bagless, take my advice and don't!
For One- their over priced.
Two- their cheaply made.
Three- you'll be lucky to get 2 years out of them.
Four- They don't work half as well as bag type vacuums.
Five- all that dust you were busy trying to clean up, gets puffed
back in your face & back in the air, when you go to empty the
container.
Also, the Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum is so powerful, I kid you not, it will pull you, instead of you pushing it.
On top of that, it vacuums so thoroughly, it has cut my cleaning time in half, and we have a multiple cat home.
Finally, to give you a good example, my mother-in-law recently purchased a Kirby for over $1,000. The Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum, cost us $70.00 through Amazon, and it works just as good, if not better than her Kirby, and it's a lot less bulky and easier to manuver around.
