Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hoover U6436-900 TurboPower Self-Propelled WindTunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum CleanerCustomer Review: self-propelled Hoover Windtunnel Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second Hoover self-propelled Windtunnel. I'm a senior citizen and like the self-propulsion. It makes vacuuming much easier.
Customer Review: Excellent Vaccum! Summary: 5 Stars
We love this vaccum. We had a previous Selfpropelled windtunnel that lasted about 7 years. Awesome perfomance. Highly recommended.

Overall good transaction.
Customer Review: Actually makes vacuuming kinda fun Summary: 4 Stars
I've had this vacuum for about 8 months now and I have to say it's pretty good. We have a dog and 2 cats, so I needed something to handle the hair, and this vacuum really does. (Though I probably should have gotten the bagless version, since we go through bags VERY quickly!) It has a nice long power cord, and a long hose to use with the wand or brushes. I like the power brush for vacuuming my sofa--it really gets the pet hair! I use all the attachments all the time, switching back and forth between the upright and the hose/wand, and it's not much of a hassle. Works great on carpet; see below for my hard floor suggestion. It is a good value for the money, and if you have a Hoover store or service center nearby there's no packing up and shipping if it needs a repair (like with a Dyson).
My main complaint about this vacuum is that the hose is attached to the vacuum too high on the body, so that when you're using the hose, the vacuum constantly tips over. This could be remedied with the hose coming out of the base instead. (Hoover, are you listening??) It is also a little on the heavy side, but I think that sort of comes with the territory....
A few tips:
-I bought a hard floor brush to use with the wand--I like this better than running the upright over my wood floors. It also works better on lightweight rugs.
-If the suction is too strong on your area rugs (you will know because you'll be sweating and the vacuum will start to smoke and/or stink!), take the vacuum back to Hoover. My guy there changed out the beater bar to one with softer brushes and it made a huge difference! I'm not struggling with the vacuum anymore.
-Make sure to tip the handle forward before flipping the switch between carpet & hard floor, and also before turning on and off the self-propel. This will prevent some damage.
-When you pick up the vacuum, do so with the handle provided for that purpose, don't pick it up by the main handle. This will also prevent damage.
Hoping this vacuum stands the test of time better than the ones I've had before it. We'll see!
Customer Review: Good Vacuum For The Money Summary: 4 Stars
This vacuum does an excellent job of getting a rug clean. It has a very strong suction power which makes vacuuming things like area rugs even with the attachment tools a challenge. One needs to have both feet on the area rug or another other type of small rugs to hold them down so that they don't actually get sucked into the vacuum! There are some design flaws in this vacuum. The hose is located in the back. Anytime it is used with the attachments, the vacuum has a tendency to tip over. The carrying handle is also in the back behind the hose and the cord, making it difficult to use. This vacuum is difficult to handle on the stair because it is big and heavy. There is a special tool to use on the stairs, which works very well, but the extra long hose (not included - extra purchase) is needed, if this vacuum is used on the stairs. The extra long cord is nice. We have two dogs and two kids and this vacuum does an excellent job of cleaning up after them.
