Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hoover WindTunnel Deluxe Stretch Hose, 20-Foot, 40200024Customer Review: recommended Summary: 4 Stars
The hose which comes with the vacuum is too short; this longer hose is needed.
Customer Review: Pulls over the vacuum if you aren't careful... Summary: 3 Stars
As with another reviewer, I agree that this thing has so much recoil that it just yanks over the fairly heavy vacuum.
On the other hand, it does provide a lot of reach and I can lay the handle of the windtunnel on the bottom stair and reach nearly to the top with the 'upholstery' tool. Very nice.
It is also quite useful when I have to vacuum the ceilings (grumble grumble _- if you EVER have the option of a 'smooth' ceiling of popcorn, choose smooth! The popcorn hangs onto everything. Our ceilings are 20' UP and everything hangs onto it. I need to rent some scaffolding and take down that popcorn crud, apply some tape (as I am sure it was a cheap-o job done by the contractor - and and then.. Well, then I'll have to paint.)
Sorry, offtopic there.. But, I like this hose and I would buy it again as it comes in handy, but you have to be aware that the minute the suction starts, it will attempt to retract itself back to fully 'compact' - if you are small, it might pull YOU rather than the vacuum.
The vacuum? The windtunnel is the BEST. I wouldn't have one of those silly 'bagless' types. Not with 2 big 4 legged biological hair manufacturing plants that are omnipresent in the house!
Cheers!

Customer Review: Better than nothing Summary: 3 Stars
Too bad Hoover's engineers did not think the overall sweeper product through well in the first place. This "extension" is obviously an afterthought, and it came too late, so it could not be fitted properly onto the sweeper the way the sweeper was already designed. This hose REPLACES the existing hose -- it does not just add on to it, so you lose the 2' or so of the original hose that could have been used. Also, as other reviewers have noted, this hose is not very flexible in terms of stretching out. It stretches only a little, and any further pulling on it just pulls your sweeper over.
That being said, once you figure out how to use it with the limitations, it is better to have the extra 8' or so that this hose really does give you, than to struggle with the original hose. (Although, when you use the sweeper as a normal upright, you have to put the original hose back on, or else somehow work around all the extra hose hanging off.)
Customer Review: Definitely not 20ft long! Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this extension with the intent of cleaning my carpeted stairs, at least half way up without lifting the vacuum. No way... this hose is longer than the standard hose, but DEFINITELY not 20 ft long. Maybe 10 ft at the most. Still, it is better than the original hose and I leave it on the vacuum to give me a longer hose for cleaning corners, hard floors, reaching air vents, etc... Also, the connection is just like the original hose and does attach perfectly at the suction end. I wrap the extra hose around the handle and keep iot ready to go all the time. As far as value goes, not worth $30 but would feel OK about paying about $15-20 for it.
Customer Review: OK for direct duust pick up... Summary: 3 Stars
The hose is well-made and ok for just direct dust pick-up, but the upholstery tool with the tiny rotating brush won''t work with it, as, even tho the vacuum (Hoover bagless WindtunnelI) is very powerful, the suction isn't that great when a really long hose like this is attached.
