I have used this vac several times and like it a lot, especially it's ability to pick up the pet hair from my long haired lovable old kitty cat who loves me so much she follows me to whatever room I'm in and is often in my lap, even when I'm trying to type.
I previously owned a Fantom Cyclone [no longer in business], which was very innovative at the time, including a HEPA filter, was bagless, and had an extension stored in the handle, from a TV infomercial. It has served faithfully for 19 years, but when I read that this new Hoover excelled at picking up cat hair, I decided it was time for a change.
It has the same innovative features as the Fantom and does an even better job with its more powerful suction and is self propelled which makes the chore a little easier. I particularly like the little red light that comes on when it hits an area with extra dirt so you can hit it again. It always works. It is also easy to carry up and down stairs because the handle is in the middle so it's better balanced to carry. I was used to emptying the Fantom after each whole house use and this one is just as easy to empty [I do it outside to eliminate the possibilty of an accidental mess on the carpets I just cleaned].
It's removable handle extension is even better than the Fantom's because it is more powerful and has an innovative stored in the front and easy to get out, spinning brush which does a good job of picking up pet hair from upholstered furniture.
I like everything about it.

I hate cleaning and will make plenty of excuses to get out of doing it. I was trying to vacuum my home with a dirt devil vacuum that I bought for about 40$. I know, I know. What I was I? Crazy? When a big move came, I needed to get serious about my cleaning. I invested in this vacuum cleaner and I've learned (for the millionth time) that you need the right tools to do a job right. If I had known what I know now... This does it all. I couldn't believe the dirt, dust, and garbage that this vacuum got up in a few minutes. It was so easy to use, that I was inspired to do more than I had planned to do. It actually changed the shade of my carpet! I used to clean my shelves with a feather duster. No more. With the brush attachment, I did my shelves in a fifth of the time it would have taken by hand. Pet hair? This thing sucks it up without any problem. Emptying out the dirt canister took about two minutes. It also has a neat cranking mechanism to shake out the paper filter--and, boy, did the filter collect a lot of dirt! I am one happy customer. I will be dreading cleaning day a lot less now. I can't compare this to any other vacuum cleaner in its price range but if you are trying to clean with some cheap vacuum cleaner, do not hesitate to put out the money for this baby. I never thought I'd say I loved a vacuum cleaner, given how much I hate vacuuming. But, I've had this for a few months and have to say - I love it! It has the perfect combination - ease of use, great cleaning power and great features at a reasonable price.
Here's the things I like best about it:
1) The Dirt Sensor: When it goes over particularly dirty areas,a light goes red letting you know to vacuum more until it goes green. (Scarily, because my last vacuum had broken, when I received this my whole place was seemingly a red zone). But, it also allows you to set the level of dirt it senses - either so it senses it deep down or just a regular level.
2) Rolls and maneuvers easily, and works well on all floor levels and types, with handy accessories for hard to get places.
3) CLEANS THE AIR TOO: Somehow, because of the particle level it picks up the air is actually fresher after using it.
4) Bagless - and easy to empty: The double tunnel has a push button that the bottom pops down and it just pours out into your garbage.
BOTTOM LINE: Reasonably priced, high-performance with great features that make vacuuming ALMOST enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I have 2 cats that have 2 favorite spots each on our couches. My old vac's hose no longer worked and I was getting tired of vacuuming the house and then bringing out the dustbuster every time I wanted to vacuum the couches. I wanted a vacuum that was capable of handling both tasks.
I purchased this vacuum based on a previous review that stated that this vacuum sucked up a hairballs with no problem and has incredible suctioning power. I completely agree. This vacuum really gets the job done.
The cat litter and hard catfood was sucked up from my hardfloors with out it being spit back out at me from the back of the vacuum. The attachments are fantastic. I used the "turbocharged"self rotating brush attachment on my fabric room-dimming blinds and all the dust and cat hair was picked up in no time. The dingy runner in my hallway was actually fluffier after I ran the vacuum over it. It seems like this vacuum literally sucked the fibers so much that the suction picked up the carpet pile in the rug. This is a great vacuum and I am really satisfied with this purchase.

Unmatched price and performance--You will be amazed at what this vacuum pulls out of your wall-to-wall carpets. ( Maybe too strong for Orientals) Forget the popular Dyson models unless you have an extra $499+ hanging around and even then Dyson models in my opinion don't come close to the performance of this unit. Easy to push--( check Low/High setting if it feels heavy--higher setting = easier to push with NO noticeable loss of cleaning power ). Bagless-- no need to go on vacuum bag "specific model" hunting/shopping trips. I worried about wood floor cleaning since you can't turn off the brush on this model (I have a lot of wood flooring) No worries just move the "high/low" switch to "high" and while the brush continues to spin--it will not contact the wood or tile floor and its spectacular vacuum capabilities will clean your wood or tile floors.
Again, excellent price value--spectacular cleaning ability!
