Customer Review: Well Designed Vacuum

This vacuum has a well thought out design. The hoses are on the side so they don't get in the way. The wheels are rubber, so they don't scratch the wood floor. The canister with the filter has a wheel you can turn that causes it to rub against an agitator to make the heavy dust fall off. The bottom of the canister opens, so the dust falls out easily. I love the green light/red light to let me know how clean the floor is. The canister comes in and out easily also. The vacuum also works very well suction-wise. It is not self-propelled, but has so much suction that it seems to take off by itself! I looked at a lot of vacuums with goofy designs - this one is designed well and works great.Customer Review: Excellent Vacuum Cleaner

This cleans like no other machine I have ever had. The amount of lint, hair and dust it removed the first time we used it, from regularly vacuumed carpets was incredible and embarrasing.The machine looks cumbersome but is really easy to guide. The attachments such as the "crevice" tool are so easy to attach and activate that I never hesitate to interrupt the regular vacuuming to clean up debris in corners etc.
Consumer Reports did not rate Hoover highly on its maintenance record and my local repairman said he had repaired "lots" because of the extent of the use of plastic. However the job it does is so good that I do not care about its durability.

I have used Hoovers over the past 30 years, but decided to look at all reviews in case there was something else that I was missing...
Again Hoover won out for value, cost, and performance! I just received it. They have definitely added some great upgrades from the older version I had. The pet hair attachment is great. The bottom emptying dust bin is wonderful! So far no need for my air can I used to use.
It definitely feels like a self-propelled vacuum even though it is not. I am sure this is due to the beater bar grabbing on the carpet.
This is just an all around great machine! Thanks Hoover and Amazon!

I bought this vacuum, Hoover U5786900, after some research. I've had it for a few weeks now and it's everything I had hoped it would be. The suction is strong, the controls are easy, and it's quieter than I had thought it would be. Changing the dirt container is a breeze compared to dealing with bags. The only thing that gave me a little pause is that the back gets hot fairly quickly when running. You can feel the heat coming off it. For all I know all 20 amp wind tunnel vacuums give off similar heat. But it doesn't get so hot that you would burn yourself or anything, and I am thoroughly happy with this vacuum.Customer Review: Great Vacuum Cleaner

I purchased this vacuum cleaner after reading that it was recommended in "Consumer Reports" and I have been impressed by its performance. It does an excellent job of picking up pet hair as well as the sand tracked in during the winter months. It performs well on both carpet and bare floors.
The vacuum also has great attachments such as hose extenders, furniture tools and a turbo tool for steps stowed on the side and front of the machine. It is easy to adjust for carpet height as well as lowering the handle to move under tables.
Overall, this is an excellent vacuum and I would highly recommend it.
