My prior homeowner left one of these on the dryer when they moved out. Due to the limited storage in my house (no linen closet) I wanted a second one for the washer & so I found & purchased this on Amazon about 2 years ago.
This ledge fits both my washer or dryer fine (standard build equipment with controls on the back). Your washer / dryer just need to sit away from the wall a foot or so. I took off 1 star because it isn't 100% sturdy, it wobbles a bit when I take the 10 lb detergent bottle on/off. That could be expected though just based on the way this shelf uses leverage to hold in place but ideally it would be completely sturdy. The wobble gives me the illusion that it could break.
I keep 2 bottles of detergent plus some sprays & dryer sheets on it... it holds the 20+ pounds just fine and has not broken after 2 years of use.
It's a great storage solution.

This is a great little shelf, which I have sitting over the top of my dryer. As it says, fits over MOST appliances...wouldn't you know it doesn't fit well over my washer, but does work over the dryer with a little easy adjustment. The only downside is the hardware was a little tricky when I put it together and you can't put a lot of weight on the shelf. A medium bottle of liquid detergent, the same of bleach and fabric softener and some stain remover is about it before things start to bend and warp. But who really needs more than that? All in all, I'm very happy with the product, If one fit over my washer, I would buy another one!Customer Review: Over Washer storage shelf

I am pleased with these but very disapointed that I ordered 2 and had to pay double shippping. The items did not weigh enough for the double charge and they came in one box. This made the shelfs cost very expensive. None of this was a suprise to me as the web site showed the shipping changes as being per item, but it doesn't keep me from being disapointed. I don't think I will order from this store again for this reason.

I really like the over the washer shelf. If I had to find some complaint, it would be that I had to pull the washer farther away from the wall then I would have preferred because of the angle of the connecting bars, but that is the worst issue (so totally do-able).
My only other complaint was more for amazon and the wasteful way they shipped the items (I ordered 3, they sent each separate in really oversized boxes - all 3 could have easily fit in one box with room to spare!)

My sister has had this for years & loves it. I moved & my cats like to jump behind the washer & play with the foil venting material. This shelf solved the cat problem & allows more area for storage. You need to play around & adjust the legs to get it stable. I broke one of the legs in adjusting it but got a replacement. I bought 2 shelves & 3 of the legs were fine, only the one was too fragile. Highly recommend it!
