This is my first drying rack ever, and I am so happy with it. Folds down very compactly, and can slide next to the dryer when not in use. NO problems with rust (had for 3 months and use numerous times/wk); no problems with instability. I've put heavy items such as jeans and towels, and no problems. I love that it's freestanding. I had to return one of the cheaper racks from the same company because it was too flimsy. While ordering this one, I was a little skeptical but when I received the product, I was quite impressed. After years of frustration with the same type of hanger only made of wood, this product rocks! No more unhinging and clothes ending up on the floor, this product simply put, stays together and will definitely keep your clothes in perfect drying position.

I have to drying rack. This one and another one purchased at Target. While the one from Target is more fancy and stylish, it 3-4 bars and doesn't let me pack as many clothes as this one.
They both fold in the same way and I paid the same price for both...
Considering everything, the Whitney 5147 is way superior.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this! i have been searching for a drying rack that had enough bars as most of them are cheap and only a few hanging bars. This is solid, easy to open and close as you just slide it open yet very sturdy and easy to fold to put away.. I highly recommend this drying rack. would absolutely buy it again if need be.
