I have this Hunter humidifier and a larger Hunter humidifier with better functions as well, and I think they both do a super job. I've had the larger one for several years and it has never given me anything but good performance. I can honestly say that it receives NO special treatment and probably borders on abuse. We now have filtered softened water, but previously our spring water wasn't too pristine and the humidifier handled it great. I didn't go crazy with cleaning it all the time; I don't think that's necessary or a good idea. My ten year old son takes care of this new smaller one with no problems. We've had zero leaks. It is true that on maybe two occasions, when the older one used all of its water, I had to unplug the unit and then plug it back in for it to 'reset'? before it would start again. Not a big deal. Be sure to follow the directions and it should be A OK. This one doesn't have the humidistat thing, which I was disappointed about, but for 50 bucks I'm very satisfied. I searched several stores and couldn't find anything comparible.Customer Review: Very happy, excellent product!

With small children I have been through a couple humidifiers, and I have to say this one really is the best so far. It is a little noisy on high, more like a white noise but my kids don't mind it. I have to agree with the other reviews here, people please read the manual! This is not a warm mist humidifier, just becasue you don't feel a mist doesn't mean its not working!
It needs to be rinsed out regularly. The whole unit breaks apart easily, most of which can be washed in the dishwasher, best part of all the filters don't need to be replaced, they can be soaked in vinegar/water to be cleaned.
Humidifiers take a little work, they must be cleaned inside and out. But this one makes it super easy.

I have had great success from the model 33222 and I'm very surprised at all the negative comments. I used mine every night to keep my room at a constant humidity while I sleep. I typically replace mine about once a year so I recently tried the Hunter 32200 and was very unhappy with it as it only lasted one night. The 32200 takes up less real estate and that is why I gave it a try but I am definitely going back to this model. I keep the unit away from the bed on a table approximately 15 feet from the head. This way it is not too loud for me and creates a nice gentle white noise to sleep by. It does make a gurgling sound about once an hour which may annoy some. It was not a huge issue with me as I am a heavy sleeper.Customer Review: Works great & easy to clean

Decided to review this as someone was asking for a recommendation so I came here to show her the link. I was shocked to see it only got 2 stars overall as I've been very happy with my unit. I've had it @ 3 yrs. Super easy to use & clean. Not one complaint. Helps me sleep when allergies are bad & I can't stop coughing. I don't even take cough meds, just need this unit. This is the cleanest humdiifier I have ever owned. The air is clean in my home thanks to a Hunter in every bedroom! This humidifier actually releases old water on a regular basis. The Nite Glo is a nice feature for my kids too. I have used this humidifer since my kids were born becasue it is bacteria free. The Perma Wick filter never needs replacement. That almost pays for itself.
