This is our second Hunter Humidifier, initially we bought one about 4-5 years ago, I dropped
the tank this year on our basement floor and it cracked so we chose to replace the unit. The
new unit is almost exactly the same except it has it's own humidistat and a night light. I
perfer to use our stand-alone humidistat that came with our first unit.
I like the easy fill tank and reuseable filter, but you should replace it after two or years.
I didn't but we were going to have to replace the first one this year, it really gets filled
up with deposits. Haven't found anything yet that cleans it to new condition.
I highly recommend this humidifier, The new one is only 30 days old but because our house
gets very dry it runs non-stop and so far so good.

My humidifier is the previous design but with the same specs. It has lasted approximately 8-10 years and has worked well until recently (the fan is slow to start and low speed no longer humidifies.) Now that I'm researching other ones, I'm having trouble finding anything comparable. The no-maintenance filter is a fantastic design that hasn't needed to be replaced. I haven't had any leaks myself. The high fan speed can be quite loud, but it puts a lot of water into the air. The container is fairly easy to fill in the bathtub, though it is very hard to fill the entire tank successfully. I don't use the humidistat (I just crank it up) and that feature doesn't seem that reliable or useful. I'm leaning towards buying another one as a replacement.Customer Review: Best evaporative humidifier I've tried

We've tried several other humidifiers (both misting and evaporative) from Air-O-Swiss to Venta, and I'm happy to have found Hunter. This is the best one by far. It's well designed, easy to use and maintain, which is a lot more then I can say about the other brands that cost a LOT more.
I gave this 4 stars because it does make a gurgling noise as the water leaves the tank. This was one of my complaints about the Air-Swiss, but the Hunter isn't as bad. The fan is loud when it's on high, but we don't mind that white noise.
Overall we're very happy with this humidifier, and having lived with the previously mentioned brand we highly recommend the Hunter.

After spending hours looking at humidifiers and reading reviews I chose this one. Why? the little or no cost maintenance issue and the water tank size. This thing does nothing but put 2 gallons of water a day into my 1600 square foot home on low fan setting. I can clean the evaporator material with a vinegar bath. Its' bumped up the humidity 12 % and my nose knows the difference. The high fan speed is too loud, would like a middle speed option. Only other thing I would change would be a top fill option.Customer Review: great humidifier for a large room

I had the earlier model of this humidifier a couple years ago until the fan just stopped working after 6 months. I had some hesitations when purchasing this newer model, but needed a cool humidifier because of my young son. This humidifier seems to run all the time, but it definately improves the moisture in the air. The only con that I have is the noise level. The fan could be quieter, but it is fine for conversation and tv watching. I would recommend this humidifier for a large room.
