We bought alarms for each of our windows. All but two of them worked out of the box. When we wrote this fact to Amazon, they quickly made the replacement operation happen in just a few days. I purchased these alarms to put on some windows in our walkout basement. The alarms are not real loud, but loud enough to be heard upstairs. The dogs definitely heard them and raised a ruckus because they hurt their ears. Easy to install and inexpensive.Customer Review: Wonderful value

Even after a year, the battery is going strong. This item works perfectly. When activated, it creates a loud sound after even the slightest movement. Just make sure to have more adhesives to spare in case the product loosens from its gripped position.Customer Review: good product

This is a pretty good product. There are lots of these types of products out there, but the alarm feature on this one is nice.
Its really a shame though that amazon allows for this kind of underhanded practice of selling a product at a very low price (in this case .89) and then charging excessive shipping fees ($5 each for a tiny item like this). I'd much rather see an honest price up instead of a way of eliminating any chance of a customer return/replacement by jacking up the non-refundable shipping charge.
Anyway, thats my rant. These alarms are pretty good if you can find them at a reasonable price.
