Tools and Hardware Reviews of Intermatic TB121C Digital Tabletop Lamp and Appliance Timer

Customer Review: digital Timer
Summary: 4 Stars

This product serves the best purposefor me. It turns on the light and wakes me up in time for my job. I have used other appliance timers but they are not precise, as this one is. It has 2 settings so when I am not going to work....I can change the time easily. Really good product if you need precision timing. Thanks a bunch...

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 4 Stars

The product itself works quite well, and hopefully will get me started in the morning. My only complaint is that it shipped to me with low batteries. This happened to another person as well, a few reviews back. I knew that I would need replacement LR44 batteries at some point, but not this early.

Customer Review: Tabletop Timer
Summary: 4 Stars

I am well pleased with the performance of this product. I find it simple to program and easy to use, plus the tabletop location makes it very accessible for operating manually.

Customer Review: So far works great
Summary: 4 Stars

Functions great so far (1 month). Setting time and on off cycles easy. Temporarily overriding cycle very easy. Only need for backup batteries prevents 5 star rating.

Customer Review: Easy to use, has battery problems.
Summary: 3 Stars

I wanted a simple timer for on/off in a single day. That's what this does. No weekly programming, or fancy stuff.

Some have mentioned it chews up batteries, and having battery "Lo" flashing. It's all true, but I found the fix. The batteries aren't really low, as I tested them with my voltmeter.

It's just the firmware seems to get confused. So I pulled the batteries, unplugged the unit and left it for several minutes, like a 'reboot'. Then put it back together and the error message went away.

The guy who coded the firmware messed up, or the electronics are poor. But knowing the solution, it works fine, for now.

I wish it was three prong, that lamps could plug into the unit (instead of down at the jack) and that I didn't have to suffer through the "battery Lo" issue.

I ordered a TB121C but on the bottom it says TB121. Maybe I got an old unit?
