The "flood" in the description refers to the configuration - design of the fixture, not the fact that this is a bright FLOOD light. These are definitely low level "mood" lighting. I have 2 sets and am impressed with the full charge even on rainy days. They stay lit all night and have worked great for the 4 plus months I've had them. I've stuck them above some vines and they highlight them just perfectly. Just don't expect them to equal 120volt "flood" light.Customer Review: Bought 3 of them, exceed expectation

I bought one set to test out the product. I used it to provide some light on the staircase. It exceeds my expectation and it is the brightest light I have ever seen powered by solar. After a day of decent sunlight, the light still works very well for the next few days with cloudy sky for the next few days.
I just got two more sets after the successful trial. Highly recommended for under thirty dollars and free shipping from Amazon.

I have two sets of these spotlights. The remote solar panel is a great idea. I have placed it in an area that gets sun most of the day. These lights are both clear and bright. I have one spotlight illuminating a US flag. The top of the flag is 7 feet above the spotlight and the spotlight has no problem reaching and lighting the flag. The others I use to illuminate bushes along my walkway and around my patio fence.Customer Review: Great lights, easy setup

This is a great, high quality product. I also have the solar tiki torches and feel that if the product has the Malibu brand name, you can't go wrong.
To be clear however, the term "Flood Light" is misleading.
These work best as accent lighting, to highlight things of interest in your garden or yard at night. A small group of 3 solar powered led bulbs are just not going to throw light like electric halogens.

I hate coming home to a dark house in the winter and fumbling for the right key. I have these set so they wash the front door with light. I can see the door knob and I can see to get the right key. One of them also lights up the inside of the house when I open the front door so I can see into the room and get the lightswitch. It beats leaving a light on all day, and it's saving me on my electric bill.
