Robo-Maid product is perfect for hardwood floors. It will get caught up in the edge of rugs, so it's best to either pick up throws or not have rugs at all. I have two of these and they are great !!! I can't imagine that the expensive ones work any better. Not only do they pick up dog hair and dust, they buff the floors while they do it. Great gift for pet people without rugs, or to own.
