I recently purchased these for my wife who's been suffering with a bad cough. We figured that having less dust around her would help plus we have 2 cats. The amount of dust and dirt these pick up is great, and they are totally silent. Very easy to clean as well.
I don't really have much to say about the car ionizers, they definitely pump out the ozone, but I'm not so sure they're doing much other than making the car smell different.
I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Clean air, no noise, no filters. Clean the blades when needed as they are VERY good at getting everything in the air - never mind microns or whatever - this gets it all. anything in the air is attracted to the plate, so how can it catch only certain sizes of whatever - it gets it ALL. I have 4 total, 2 big, 2 compact. Even have one smaller one in the bathroom, and 2 car ionizers in 2 cars. If nothing else, I know I am breathing cleaner air - see what gets left on the blades ...Customer Review: I finally quit coughing

These are very effective air purifiers. No hassels, no filters, no sound. I needed something that would reduce the dust and animal dander and these do. I'm not a smoker so I can't comment on that, but when I cleaned the plates (the system buzzes automatically when the plates need to be cleaned) I was amazed at all the dust and dander that had collected. I live out in the country with dirt roads so we have a lot of dust and I haven't coughed since I turned these on.Customer Review: I love mine!

I bought the twin pack and was very skeptical as they are so quiet and I hardly felt any air movement from them. I have one in each bedroom. Before reading other reviews, I wondered if I was nuts. But the air in both rooms smells fresher, cleaner. I've just ordered a third, larger one for the living/dining room area. I'm also very happy to be able to clean blades rather than replace filters. I'm extremely happy with them and sorry I didn't get them sooner!Customer Review: Good Investment

Purchased these over a month ago and so far I am very pleased with them. Although they are for smaller rooms, two work really well when placed strategically in the house. For the money, I don't think you'll find much better. Not real impressed with the ones that came with them for the vehicle - of course they were free (if there is such a thing), so won't complain. Wouldn't buy them separately.
