Customer Review: Wrinkles REALLY do fall out

Yes, the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series 1300-Watt Garment Steamer makes wrinkles fall right out of worsted wool suits, jackets, and slacks, cotton dress shirts, and on all but the thickest fabrics. Tug just a little as you work and find yourself slack-jawed in appreciation. I steamed 3 suit jackets/slacks, 3 odd jackets and 3 odd slacks as well as two cotton handkerchiefs on one tank of water.
Very solid construction. Not flimsy in any respect. Even the power switch is well-designed such that an accidental bump will only turn the steamer off. It's very tall but the footprint is small. Though it may appear top heavy, it isn't. A full tank of water and the corner placement of the wheels assures a stable base to work from.
Keep in mind that the hose gets hot, so don't grab it or let it lie against your skin.

I had a Jiffy handheld steamer for travel and found myself using it at home frequently because it's so much easier than ironing. The handheld version is great but not quite powerful enough for everyday use so I decided to invest in the full size and it was the best laundry-related purchase I ever made. This steamer is high quality, the base is balanced and the pole is very steady, even with a heavy garment hung on it. I steam everything from featherweight silk blouses to heavy wool suits with ease. I don't bother with creases but I think they would be easy with a steam board. The steamer doesn't sputter or spit hot water and is ready to use in 2 minutes with a powerful, steady flow of steam. I use it every morning and probably fill it up once a week. I still burn myself occasionally trying to get my hands too close but that's my own laziness in not using an oven mitt. Over time this machine will save you far more money in dry cleaning than it ever cost. Do not expect miracles though. If you think it will replace ironing shirts or pants you will be sorely disappointed. It will remove most wrinkles from "wrinkle - free" pants and shirts. Do not expect them to look freshly starched. For most of those items that need dry cleaning, it will remove the wrinkles from daily wear. I have a blue blazer that is fairly light weight that it does not work with -- the blazer looks like it was caught in a fine spray -- sort of "peeblely" looking. On the other hand most wool slacks and wool sport coats or suits it works miracles -- quickly removing wrinkles. Do, however, let the cloth dry and cool off after steaming (a few short minutes) before donning-- otherwise it will wrinkle again fast. I decided to upgrade and purchase a Jiffy Steamer after seeing it in some top retail stores (Express being one of my favorites that carries this brand). This steamer is sturdy, easy to operate and assemble, and gets those wrinkles and smells out fast! I used this steamer on my fiances wool peacoat after many college nights out at a smokey bar. The Jiffy steamed all of the bad smells out and got it looking new again! I have also used it on t-shirts to get them looking store bought as well as my button up cotton shirts with a little starch to get that crispier ironed look. I would definitely recommend this steamer - no it does not give the same look as an iron. But, if you are looking for a great steamer for wrinkle free soft cotton or to take out smells like dry cleaning look no further. This steamer is everything I hoped it would be. I had been using a small portable hand-held model for about a year, creeping along with only being able to steam maybe 3 articles of clothing at a time before having to stop & refill. I finally decided to spring for one of these after reading reviews & researching different models. What an amazing purchase! I can do a whole weeks worth of wardrobe for my businessman husband at a time without stopping! It's actually fun to do now & I look forward to this 'chore'. Very user friendly, I don't have one negative thing to say about it, this Jiffy works like a charm! My husband knew how agrivated i'd get trying to steam his clothes with the little one, so the first time he saw me using this one, I kept exclaiming over & over how easier it was & how better it worked & how much I loved it,..he didn't even gripe about the cost! lol
