Tools and Hardware Reviews of Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series 1300-Watt Garment Steamer

Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 5 Stars

The reason I chose this Jiffy model for my wife is that every other model I researched invariably had a few complaints about design, workmanship, durability or the company's customer service. Since Jiffy has been the standard for so long (1940), I figured that it was worth a few dollars more to get a product that defies the adage, "they just don't make 'em like they used to". Jiffy does! This steamer went together in a snap and she steamed a weeks worth of clothes in no time. The device is solid and well built with a sturdy hanger and smooth easy glide casters. It should last for many years - that's Jiffy's reputation - so what's not to like?

Customer Review: great for knits
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't tell you how much of a timesaver this is. Sometimes when you fold sweaters you have the crease marks. This will take them out and won't stretch sweaters like an iron will. I actually use this more often than the iron now.

What I find especially great is that i can use them on toddler clothes. Sometimes I forget to get things out of the dryer in time and to put an outfit on a hanger and steam it beats trying to iron a little bitty shirt or pants.

It's also great to freshen up items that you wore out and are still clean but are dry clean only. Great to get those few wrinkles out to make it fresh again.

Customer Review: A very versatile product
Summary: 5 Stars

It is rarely used for its intended purpose, it's mainly used to clean the bathroom. Was used once on the kitchen floor and it did a wonderful job! All without chemicals, no more sticky floors like one would get if cleaning products were not rinsed properly. Forget about the so-called 'steam mops', this works so much better. The advertising makes the steam mop appear to work so easily - don't believe what they tell you on TV - the Jiffy Steamer really does the job on kitchen floors and it does it very well! It was used once to freshen clothing but if it is just washed and removed from the dryer promptly, steaming really isn't necessary.

Customer Review: Great product...
Summary: 5 Stars

I was in the clothing biz for 10 years and used clothing steamers often.
This is just as good as any of the $400 professional units I used.
For those who claim it does not replace an iron...it's damn close.
For those who claim it does not get out wrinkles from all or certain fabrics, you do not know how to use it.
This steamer produces plenty of steam to get out any wrinkles from any fabric.
As far as the steam board they have here for $60.
I made one for $20, with 2ft x 4ft 1/4 inch mdf board, some door hooks, cotton batting and a large towel for the covering.
It works great!!

Customer Review: Excellent and its made in the USA!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This J-2000 is a very solid, appliance. I was very impressed at the quality of the materials when I unpacked the unit. Solid case, thick hose and very nice Aluminum hang bar. It works great. AGAIN, this is not an iron so do not compare it to an iron. It steams great and works almost like an iron. We looked at a lot of different makes and models and they were all pretty cheap. Looked at the reviews here on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. We are very pleased, and even more so since it is actually made here in the good old USA!!! Another great reason to buy (I do not work for Jiffy, I promise).
