Customer Review: Adequate, but not the best option

I wanted to give Jokari's Cap Organizer a better rating, as it does what is advertised. However, it just can't compete with Perfect Curve's "Cap Rack."
I set out looking for a relatively cheap way to organize my large hat collection on a single door. Seeing that this product was a "set of 2," I had anticipated being able to do just that. Unfortunately, Jokari doesn't use any sort of clip system; instead, hard pieces of plastic attached to the main support form very shallow, flat hooks. As a result, hats have to be hung by the back of the sweatband, and the rack can only accomodate one hat per hook. Because of how the hats sit on the hooks, one essentially sees the top of the hat instead of the front. This isn't a huge deal, but it isn't ideal, either. All in all, I'm generally unimpressed by the use of rack space, especially because the rack stretches the entire height of a door. In contrast, Perfect Curve's rack holds three hats per clip; the hats are collapsed and held at the top, so the presentation is a little nicer, in my opinion.
I also had an issue with the over-the-door hooks. While they fit fine over my standard-size doors at home, they did not come close to fitting over the older doors in my dorm at school. Unsurprisingly, Perfect Curve's hook was just large enough to accommodate the slightly larger door. Jokari did have a few nice touches that are definitely worth mentioning, though. They provided a bag of hardware for wall mounting the rack (then again, so did Perfect Curve), and at one end of the rack, an elastic band stretches to ensure a tight fit over the door. Curiously, I don't think that the metal hooks actually detach from the rack, so they might just hang there if the wall mounting option is chosen (but I'm not sure about that).
I would have said that this is an instance of "you get what you pay for," but the racks weren't exactly cheap, even compared to Perfect Curve's. Sure, this thing holds hats. Does it do it well? Not particularly. I realize that this is just a cap rack, and I can't take myself too seriously with the review. At the same time, I simply can't recommend Jokari's rack over those of the competition.

I ordered this item primarily based on the reviews posted on Amazon.com. I must have received the only "dented can" in the lot. One of the straps did not set on the door properly, the metal clip at the top cut into the door frame and marred the paint, the paint on the door got scuffed and marred by the metal clip, and no amount of trying to bend the clip to get it to set on the door properly would work. The product looked like a good buy for under $10, but after paying shipping charges from the vendor to me, then back to the vendor for a refund, the shipping charges exceeded the cost of the item! A very costly experience. My recommendation - buy such products at a local store where it won't cost you a fortune in shipping to return defective merchandise. Also would recommend a plastic clip cap holder to prevent damage that metal clips cause on the door and door frameCustomer Review: To be returned

I recently got this product, and it will soon be returned. It smashed all of my hats (and thats with the door kept opened). I am a guy who hates dented and smashed hats. If you are too, do not buy this product. It will not keep their shape in any way. You would be better off getting a cardboard box in which to set your hats in, and carefully stacking them on top of each other, and then placing that box in a closet somewhere. If all you want is storage, great. If you want something that will help to protect the shape of your hats and provide storage, then this is not the product for you. In fairness to the manufacturer, my hats looked exactly like the hats in the photo - smashed. Obviously, I should have looked closer at the photos provided. Lesson learned, and this junk will soon be making its way back.
