I find this valve worse than the single shower head builder's series valve installed in my home. I spent a lot of money on a custom shower and cannot set the temperature with this valve. As you turn up the temperature it will suddenly get too warm. Turn the temperature down and it stays hot until the flow is almost turned off. I think that the Pressure Balancing Unit (the PBU) may be defective. I am dismayed that a high end, specialty valve can come from the factory defective. I have taken the valve apart per the instructions in hopes to find an easy fix, like maybe some debris had found its way into the valve. It is perfectly clean.
I was initially impressed with this valve by the mass of this cast brass body. There are individual shutoffs for hot and cold water at the valve so you don't have to run down to the basement to turn the water off when I was installing the shower heads. Those shutoff valves are handy while working on the pressure balancing unit. It has a very substantial feel that initially made me glad with my investment.
