I bought this about 3 years ago. Throughout that time it has signaled to change the battery so I've done that a couple of times, the last being about a month ago. Last night at 3:30AM the alarm went off. It was downstairs and I could hear it clearly although at first I thought it was a low battery baby monitor. I called an emergency number that wouldn't go through and being it was so late I then decided to just turn the thermostat down and open a couple of windows. To be honest I was suspicious of the alarm working properly, but glad I at least did that. Later that day I had a heating and cooling repair service inspect my furnace and yes it was sending carbon monoxide throughout the house at a high rate. Bad news is I need to replace my 70's model furnace, but the good news is this alarm could be responsible for saving the lives of my family.Customer Review: Good buy for a safety device

This is the second one of these we have purchased. The first one lasted well over 10 years before it finally gave out. This one fit right where the previous one had been, saving me the problems of putting new screws in the wall, etc. Compact and easy to change batteries.Customer Review: works fine
