Tools and Hardware Reviews of Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Digital DisplayCustomer Review: YOUR problem... Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased 25 of these from Javier O'Reilly (SALJAV), phone 305-851-3528 for my apartments; I told him I was concerned that the were "fresh" and not old inventory. I had him ship directly to my apartments. When they arrived I had my maintenance man read the date of mfg, and he MISREAD this date as 2001 when actually it was 2006...anyway I called & emailed Javier, but due to the holidays, I did not hear from him for a day or so, so I canceled my credit card payment. After speaking to him, I had my apartment manager read the product and she found the correct date; I then called my credit card company and ask them to pay the bill in full.
Since then you have "blocked" Javier out of his page with you and nether
he nor I have been able to TALK to anyone to explain that this was all
MY FAULT...NOT HIS...HE HAS BEEN VERY HONEST AND HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG
and you should NOT BLAME HIM!
Please feel free to email or call me 800-545-3391 so I can help get his
good faith business back.
My order # was 103-8885051-9209867 placed on 12-3-08 for Tower Arms Apts.
for $843.50.
This would have been MUCH EASIER IF WE COULD HAVE SPOKEN TO SOMEONE AT
AMAZON long ago.
Thank you.

Customer Review: Works Great Summary: 5 Stars
We've had two of these (one upstairs and one downstairs) for 2+ years. They work great. They are easy to set up. Some complain about the beeping at start... it stops after a 30 second start up diognostic. (Read the manual). The upstairs unit is hung on the wall between bedrooms. The downstairs unit moves back and forth between the hot water heater (condo unit) or the ventless NG fireplace. I can check for peak levels of CO, which is at most 10ppm... and that's only when gas appliances start up... which is normal. When I place the unit in the center of our downstairs, away from the NG units, no CO levels ever register. It's nice to have the peace of mind the units afford us.
The other great benefit to these battery units is... if you desire, you can pack them up and take them with you on a trip. More peace of mind for a place you may not be familiar with.
Great price for the safety it brings. Simular rated items can go for $100... and those need to be plugged in or hard wired... not great if you lose power. I don't see how you can go wrong with this product.
Customer Review: A Great Buy! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been paranoid about carbon monoxide poisoning ever since I saw an episode of "Rescue 911" where a family all got poisoned. I make sure my house always has a detector. I left my old one at my old house when I moved so I've been looking at different models to buy one for my new house. Most models I've seen at the stores that are similar in price to this one do not have a digital display that always shows the carbon monoxide level. Those that had this feature were usually in the $40-50 range. I was really excited to see this one on Amazon and it seemed to have all the features I was looking for. I've had it for a few months now and it's great! It has a green light that occasionally blinks but it doesn't bother me at night (I keep it in my bedroom) as long as I face it away from me. It has a little stand so you don't need to wall mount it if you don't want to but it comes with screws if that's your preference. Overall, this was a great buy and it gives me peace of mind.
Customer Review: Best Carbon Monoxide Detector! Summary: 5 Stars
I owned the previous model of this carbon monoxide detector and it lasted over 10 years! The digital readout allows you to review any CO levels by just pressing a button. Once, after painting a room, I checked the readout and a low-level reading appeared. After checking the manual I found out that the reading was due to the paint fumes. I feel safer knowing I can check for low-level readings that do not activate CO alarms in order to be aware of a potential problem. Some models do not have this feature and you would not have any way to know of a low-level reading. Also, the CO detector is easy to set up and operate, runs on batteries (included), and may sit on a shelf or be mounted on a wall. I believe this is a high-quality product at a very reasonable price!
Customer Review: Great price. Digital display is important to me. Summary: 5 Stars
Just installed a natural gas space heater to replace my somewhat worthless gas logs/electric space heater. Tried them both.
The gas space heater creates a sauna in minutes. Great.
I'm the cautious type. I don't want to wake up dead from carbon monoxide poisoning.
I have two digital and two non digitals in my house.
Having digital ones lets you check the levels at any time.
The non digitals don't give you any warning of a problem, until they go off.
A positive. Batteries inserted from the front. Don't have to remove the unit to replace the 3 AA batteries.
Only negative. Can't hang from ceiling. Only a negative if you wanted to cover up a removed ceiling detector.
