Had to replace my old Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load that expired exactly 5 years after the manufacture date. I ended up buying three from Amazon because at the time they offered an amazing unbeatable deal and no other sellers could match the price. I've noticed a few complaints about the manufacture date on recently purchased alarms. Of the three I purchased in Dec 2009, one had a manufacture date of Feb 2009 and the other two were manufactured in March 2009. Even the the batteries included with each alarm had a Feb 2009 date stamped on them with a 2015 expiration date. Hope that squashes any concerns future purchasers might have. Purchased the Kidde KN-COPP-B detector from Amazon several weeks ago. it's quite easy to set up and mount, and appears to be very reliable. I chose this particular Kidde detector because it includes a digital display which allows the owner to actually check and see CO2 levels. (I'm apprehensive about other units which simply trip an alarm when high CO2 levels are detected - - which makes me wonder whether they are really functional).
I tested this unit by holding it above our kitchen range and it promptly displayed a high reading, and returned to a zero reading when removed from that environment. I'm very satisfied with this model which performs as expected, and at a very economical price. Strongly recommend it to all.

This is a great carbon monoxide (CO) detector. It works flawlessly. I ordered several of them and all have worked fine. I really like the features, as well as, the back-lighted display, and the battery compartment is up front. The design is well thought out and the overall product is superb. It has my highest rating. I am a technical individual and I researched numerous makes, models, reviews and recommendations before settling on this make/model. It gets high ratings on Amazon.com, as well as, in several technical user groups I belong too. I chose this model over the one with the AC cord and batteries for backup because in the locations wherein I am using these no cord can show because of aesthetic reasons.Customer Review: Carbon Monoxide Detector with display

I called our fire department to see which one they recommended. They said that if you get a carbon monoxide detector make sure that it has a digital display that tells you the unit of carbon monoxide. This way if your alarm goes off, you will be able to tell what the level is and you can report it to them. You will be able to tell ASAP, if you need to get out immediately, or if you can wait until they arrive, etc. I know it costs a little more, but when it comes to your safety... Also, they reccomend that you get one for every level in your house. If you have one downstairs, then you will not be able to hear it during the night, etc. Hope this helpsCustomer Review: Great Reviewer

Haven't had it for long, but looks just like the pictures online. Easy to set and and learn how to use. Good price and love that it is DIGITAL! Has nice neat features and signal tone is nice and loud for emergencies. I would say I'm happy I chose this model and would recommend from what i know, seen, and read about this unit. Really like that you get to see the actual CO2 level reading displayed on this unit to see how serious the situation it! You can either mount it on a wall or it has a way for you to set it up on a flat surface. Unit even tells you when it's not safe for it to run and read co2 levels properly.
