We have this one and a First Alert plug-in model. This unit woke us up one night with a readout of 55 ppm. The First Alert did not. The next morning, we had someone come out to look at our furnace, and it turned out there was a crack in the heat exchanger. The First Alert alarm never went off despite its closer proximity to the furnace. I bought this one right before our baby was born, and I'm really glad that I did.Customer Review: Good sensor, fast readout

I have owned one of these for the last three years. There has been no problem. Since the display is always showing "0," I was wondering if it would ever change. So put it near my car's exhaust pipe. Wow, within a few seconds, it jumped from 0 to 900! It backed down to 0 in a couple of minutes after I moved it to fresh air. So it was working all the time, even the display never changed when I had it near my furnace.Customer Review: So far so good

After reading some of the reviews on here, I was hesitant to purchase but decided to give it a try...especially with the reasonable price. Interestingly, even the guys at the Gas Company warned me to expect "false alarms" and not to panic if it were to go off. The device was extremely easy to assemble and operate and, fingers crossed, has been operating perfectly and without incident for several weeks so far.Customer Review: Got this one as a replacement

I got this detector because my old one, which was a plug in type, kept going off. I even called the fire department because even after putting the old one outside for a few minutes then plugging it in again it still sounded the alarm. I called the fire department who quickly came out and according to their monitors there was no detection of carbon monoxide. I purchased the Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Digital Display recently.....It operates as described and was easy to set up. The digital display makes it easy to check levels of Carbon Monoxide that are below the threshold necessary for a loud audio response. A low-battery level indicator gives visual and auditory feedback as well........overall very good.
