Separate voice alarms is a very good feature. No need to guess whether there's a fire or unsafe levels of carbon monixide. It tells you which one. Well built and attractive. My system required hard-wiring but that was very easy - just remove the wire nuts, remove connecting wires of the old alarm, and secure the new ones. If you have a No. 2 Phillips screwdriver and a 6-foot stepladder (for 8-foot ceilings), you're in business. Dom't forget to turn the power off before you start.

We have had several smoke alarms and right now we have this one along with the smoke alarm that is connected to our alarm company. This alarm picks up small traces of smoke very very well. I can't even tell you how many times I've been cooking and with even a hint of smoke coming off my pan it goes off, BEEP BEEP fire fire, says the nice lady's voice. So I know it works very well. It makes me feel safer that it has carbon detection also. I can highly reccommend it.Customer Review: TWO IN ONE!

I love this product, not only because it's so practical to have both Smoke and CO2 alarms in one unit, but it is so unobtrusive and it works well (doesn't go off every time you fry an egg). It is better to have a CO alarm at ceiling level for early detection, it is battery operated so it works when the power is out and can even go with you if you are away from home, even in your car. Excellent bargain for the price i paid.
They really do retail for over 90 bucks, and that's the only reason i give it a 5 star rating....it's a purchase that you hope it works when needed, and Kidde is a reputable name in the business.
Luckily I haven't needed it for it's purpose-yet it did signal for fire from a bit of a smoky oven while cooking a meal.
Good and loud!

Excellent item and works as advertised at a reasonable price.
I had one of these over 7 years. The old one beeps indicating replacement time so I purchased 3 more new ones. All indications these work great. It does use 3 AA batteries and should be change a little less than 6 months.
I glanced over the First Alert ones and they have problems. Thank goodness these are great.
Highly recommended.
