Fortunately, we haven't had to really USE this! But, it was easy to install and when it goes off (when you test it) it is VERY loud!! I like the way it was a voice to alert you when you are sleeping. Just a loud buzz can go unnoticed or ignored. The spoken alarm is a big change from previous smoke alarms and is most welcome! When we had too much smoke in the house (from cooking) it announced "Smoke"
I'll buy more when replacing old alarms.
