This is the second set of three of these devices I've had installed in my home and have been very pleased with their operation. They have a life of 7 years snd thus the reason I've had to replace the first ones which were installed in 2003. The fact that they operate on household AC power with a 9 Volt battery backup, and provide a voice warning of the type of hazard that is present, makes them my preferred choice.Customer Review: Easy installation and tested correctly.

Great rating by Consumer Reports. Product delivered as advertised with free Amazon shipping. Mount the mounting plate to the ceiling with included screws. Connect two wires with included wire nuts. Remove battery terminal-block strip. That is all. Unless the units will be interconnected (an option), the red wire is left unconnected with its cover in place. I purchased this fire alarm/co combo to replace a defective Firex FADCM 12000. The Kidde KN-COSM-IB is a perfect replacement that functions flawlessly with the other AC wired alarms in my house. Wiring was easy, and could have even been easier with the adapter that Kidde makes. No complaints. Of course Amazon has it for 1/3 less than the big box stores with free shipping and no tax.Customer Review: super product

This is a very proper item to be just as described. It is exactly what was advertised. It is what it is a combo c/o and smoke alarm that is hard wired and it performs as advertised and works as stated. At a price that is very competitive. I was impressed that it was as easy to replace an old unit that still worked but was 15 years old and may not have worked when it was required.Customer Review: Great buy

I was shopping for this replacement for the one in my house that finally gave up the ghost. These alarms last just about 7 years. Everyplace I looked the price was around $50.00 for the combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm for hard wire with the battery backup. I decided to check out Amazon and got a great buy with free shipping. Saved around $14.00. Thanks Amazon!!!
