Like the fact that it is both a smoke detector and carbon monoxide sensor in one. The audible announcement feature tells you if smoke or carbon monoxide was sensed. Very simple to install. We have a Kidde wired system with battery backup and feel a single alarm setting off the rest a critical part of this protection. Replaced Firex brand interconnected detectors with these. The packages included a new connector and all materials for installation to make the transition as easy as possible. I highly recommend this unit. It's easy to install, and the voice warning is very effective. This snapped right into the base ring from my old KN-COSM that had expired and began it incessant beeping. The manufacure date was very recent so I should get full life out of this unit. Happily I have never had a situation to test one of these units.
