Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.

User friendly and easy to operate, the i9060 includes a range of helpful features that help you maintain a properly functioning smoke alarm with minimal effort.

An easy-to-see, red LED flashes every 30 to 40 seconds to indicate that power is flowing to the unit, and a chirp will sound if the battery is running low. A hush feature temporarily silences nuisance alarms--a great feature for kitchen alarms--while a convenient test button lets you ensure that the electronics, horn, and battery are all working properly. For added peace of mind, twist-off mounting provides safe battery placement and fast, easy installation without wires. Plus, a tamper resist locking pin helps prevent both theft and tampering.
