Grade 2 security entry knob with SmartKey cylinder. SmartKey cylinder eliminates traditional pins and springs. Cylinder design provides instant re key functionality. SmartKey cylinder is a bump resistant, higher pick resistant lock. Included with each lock is the re keying learning tool that allows the lock to be re keyed in 3 easy steps. Fits all standard doors 1 3/8'' up to 2''. Standard adjustable backset 2 3/8'' 2 3/4''. Requires 2 1/8 diameter lockset bore hole and a 1'' diameter latch hole. Has an adjustable backset 2 3/8''. Simple Installation and Re-Keying
Kwikset's patented pre-assembled design guarantees hassle-free installation?all you need is a screwdriver. You can re-key your lock in three easy steps: Insert the functioning key and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise; insert and remove the SmartKey learn tool and remove the functioning key; insert the new key and turn it 1/2 turn counter clockwise. The lock will then be re-keyed without the hassle and cost of replacing the entire lock or removing it from your door. All of this allows you to feel confident in providing temporary access to neighbors, babysitters, contractors, and household help, knowing that any lost, loaned, or unreturned keys become useless.

Customer Review: Great design, easy to install

This was an incredibly easy to install product. They really thought about the homeowner install experience. For example, you don't have to put screws the whole way in, you just have to click them in and screw a quarter of an inch or less (you'll see when you install)
The easy rekey is wonderful--just keep in mind that anyone that has a key could potentially rekey, since the rekey tool is not a difficult one.
One gotcha is that the lockset comes keyed for right handed doors. You'll need a tool to fix that--but the only effect is that the cylinder will be upside down, it'll work fine.
Just call the number included in the instructions, and they'll send you the tool to fix that.
