Tools and Hardware Reviews of Kwikset 907 11P CP Maximum Security Powerboat 1000 Electronic Deadbolt, Venetian BronzeCustomer Review: So Far So Good Summary: 4 StarsI purchased this lock because I live by myself. I locked myself out of the house one day before a flight. My telephone, luggage and everything were in side the house! Luckily, I was able to borrow a strangers cell phone and finally got someone that had a key.
A friend had a lock like this one about seven or eight years ago with no real problems. I finally decided to purchase one and installed it this weekend. It's a pretty straight forward procedure.
In regards to one poster, the two screws only hold the number pad. You could possibly damage the pad, but you cannot tamper with the dead bolt by removing these screws. It's a little loud, that's true. I suppose you could always use your key if you wanted to "sneak" into the house.
True, the instructions do warn you about misaligning the door. I don't have any alignment problems with my dead bolt. If you do, then you might want to consider another option or align the dead bolt properly when you install the lock.
One finally note, reprogramming is a snap. I can now allow people temporary access to my home and immediately and easily change the code when I get home.
