Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 5365 Ceramic Pedestal Heater with Remote Control

Customer Review: So far, so good. It performs as advertised.
Summary: 4 Stars

My dentist had one of these in his waiting area and I started tinkering with it. I was scolded for temporarily changing its setting to 70 degrees. (Just wanted to see what it felt like since it was set at 63 and wasn't running.)

I asked the receptionist why she was so uptight about this. She advised that when this heater is set at 70 degrees it triggers the office's thermostat (probably 20 feet away) and shuts off heat to the rest of the office.

That's all I had to hear! Now that I own one I'm not disappointed. Not sure about buying a bunch of these and using them to heat the entire house, but a single unit can certainly take the chill out of a moderate size room.

True it doesn't have an automatic shutoff if knocked over but it does run amazingly cool to the touch. Worth the tradeoff. We just don't leave it run unattended for lengthy periods of time.

Give it a shot. It probably won't disappoint.

Customer Review: Works great to take the chill off in our bedroom!!
Summary: 4 Stars

Works great to take the chill out of our bedroom! We turn it on 15 minutes prior to going to bed and it raises the temperature by about 5 degrees in that short amount of time! We then turn it off when we climb in to bed using the little remote that I keep on my nightstand. In the morning when the alarm clock goes off I hit snooze and then I grab the remote for the heater and with the touch of one large button on the remote the heater is on and it has warmed the room up to a toasty temperature which makes it a little bit easier to get out of the covers on those cold winter mornings. I did not notice any real change in my electric bill this winter, but we only use the heater in small increments. I have not tried using to heat a large space like our family room, but to take the chill off in a bedroom or home office, it's worth purchasing. Looks sleek and stylish too! I am going to buy my mother in law one for mothers day!

Customer Review: Good heater for small-moderate sized room
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good all-around heater, and a huge step up from my old box fan-style heater. It gives out enough to heat a small room and enough to warm up a moderate sized room. It is NOT for large rooms with high ceilings unless you are sitting in front of it. It has kept me warm through the last 4 months, and only seemed a little underpowered on the coldest of nights (15-20 degrees).

Pros:
-Convenient remote that is easy to use
-Oscillation helps spread the heat out
-Thermostat keeps the room from getting too hot
-fairly quiet

Cons:
-display on top is too bright and annoying in a dark room
-lacks a timer to turn ON after 8 hours (I like my room warm in the AM and cooler at night)
-sound may annoy some light sleepers who put it next to the bed

Customer Review: Pretty good heater
Summary: 4 Stars

I have purchased two Lasko 6350 heaters.

Overall I really like this heater.

The Pros:
- Relatively quiet. Some people mentioned that there is a difference in noise level between the high & low settings. In the model I purchased there was no difference in noise. i.e. the fan level was the same. It is just that in low heat - the amount of heat dispensed is lowed.
- Very nice remote
- Temperature control
- Overall nice performance

The Cons.
- The unit has an option to Oscillate. In one of the units I purchased the Oscillation caused an annoying tapping noise which made me have to replace the heater with another. Since the unit has to be disassembled & reassembled again - that was a little more trouble.

Customer Review: good, but ...
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm satisfied with my purchase, but the heater does have one flaw that is possibly a safety hazard: if you turn it off while it is in automatic mode (i.e., the heater is automatically turning off & on using its thermostat to maintain a desired room temperature), it will ALWAYS be in manual mode when you turn it back on. I can imagine a scenario where a person forgets to place the heater back in automatic mode after turning it back on (it DOES remember the previous automatic mode temperature setting), leading to some sort of disaster. In manual mode, the heater stays on continually so the room will just keep getting hotter and hotter. I hope that no one accidentally cooks their infant or pet with this heater!!
