I've only had this fan for a few weeks, but here's my take so far. First, it arrived broken - a cap used to hold the top of the fan to the base was broken when it arrived. Amazon immediately shipped me a new one, but the breakage only added to my concern that this is a fan made of plastic, and it feels cheap. It works, so far, and it's inexpensive, and it is very quiet for a fan, so those are the pluses. My first fan of this type, these oscillating fans, I got from a hardware store 20 years ago. The thing worked for 18 years, then died. It was metal. These new fans feel cheaper, and I have a hard time imagining them working for 20 years (got a fan from a different company a few years back and it died after 2 to 3 years). No idea how long this one will last, and it is inexpensive, so we'll see.Customer Review: works well

This fan works well and produces a decent amount of air for my kids bedroom- although that is with it sitting about 2 feet away from them and oscillating. The only minor issue is that the fan is made of all plastic and doesn't seem to be able to tolerate too much abuse (dropping on the floor, etc)- which my kids sometimes do to things. Overall, pretty happy.
