This fan is so small and quiet yet it moves some big air for its size. I use my laptop hooked up through hdmi to a large screen monitor to play games. Lately my laptop has been overheating because games are just getting more graphics intensive. I bought this fan to put on my desk to help move air over my laptop and laptop cooler. It works great and takes up a 4 inch by 3 inch space on my desk. Basically the size of a cigarette pack but its about 13 inches tall so its not a super tiny thing. I actually ended up laying it on its side so that the air goes right across my laptop. It can oscillate but you can turn that on and off with a button. Its sorta loud on hi but on low its quiet enough not to bother my gaming.Customer Review: TOO COOL

Hey, I live in Las Vegas with the temperatures during the summer are over 100 degrees most days. I turn on this little guy while sitting at our computer and I am just so comfortable! It sure helps to keep our A/C bill at a reasonable rate. I found two more at a local store and one was defective and had to bring it back for an exchange which happens from time to time. If I knew how great this little fan was I would have ordered more from Amazon. My hubby took one to work and the third as a "just in case". I am amazed at how cool this little thing is. A must have. You won't be disappointed!

I looked at at least 15 little fans online and decided on this one after reading the reviews. It's a great one! The high setting blows a lot of air and isn't super quiet, but the low setting is perfect if you want it close to you on your desk and is quiet. The fan in my laptop is louder than this fan. It's also easy to move around and has already saved some marriage arguments (my hubby is always cold and I'm always hot!). Even when we're sitting on the couch watching a movie this fan fits nicely on the end table so I can enjoy the breeze and it won't make my husband too cold. I recommend it! The color is also nice and it's very unobtrusive.Customer Review: Surprisingly Good

I didn't expect much from this fan due to its very small size, but it works really well. It produces a surprisingly good breeze, even on low speed. It is reasonably well finished, with decent-quality plastic and a black metal mesh on the back. It is fairly quiet when running. The control buttons are silent too, thank goodness: no pointless beeping noises when you turn it on or off.
Finally, it uses amazingly little electricity for a fan: 20 watts on high, and 13 watts on low.
This unit isn't going to replace a big box fan, but it would work well as a desk fan or low-power room fan.

I just got the Lasko 4000 from amazon rather quickly I should add and I am very pleased with it. I bought it because I just installed a TV console with doors and my PS3 was overheating like a bastard so I took advice from someone in the Sony website articles. I read reviews from other people saying the fan was loud but I don't think it is. They also said it had a power light that is very bright if you put it near your bed to sleep in front of it; well I use A/C when it is hot so I wouldn't know but the fan kicks ass and I recommend it for gamers and cable tv watchers especially if you have a surround sound system like I do.
