Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 4904 Space-Saving Pivoting Task FanCustomer Review: This is truly a QUIET near-silent fan Summary: 5 Stars
I get so sick of marketing materials for fans that claim silence, super quiet, "just a whisper" etc. It's all lies! I have personally bought many of them and I found out how these fan makers lie through their teeth. The ONLY fans that I have found which are the exception are a few models from Brookstone (like model 767), the Vornado Zippi and this Lasko 4904. You can truly barely hear these fans on their slowest settings. The result is that I can lay in bed with the fan going, music playing at an absolute whisper volume and easily fall asleep. I like the 4904 so much that I bought several more. One sits at my desk to keep the air gently moving. The other is for keeping some of my computer gear cool. I hope this fan last lots of years and stays just as quiet, because it's the perfect companion.
Customer Review: Perfect for cooling my PowerPC Summary: 5 Stars
Perfect for cooling my PowerPC which generates a significant amount of heat, nice in the winter for heating up a small office, but during summer the heat is a killer.
The fan is is big enough to blow down 3 surfaces on the MAC (bottom, front and side) and move the heat away from the computer and desk where it dissipates faster (and not on my feet and legs).
I have it on low and can not hear it unless the computer is totally off.
Perfect purchase.

Customer Review: Great hobby fan! Summary: 5 Stars
I use this fan for my hobbies which require a lot of use of various glue. It's a great fan! Very quiet and has a solid, heavy feel to it. The pivoting is a great feature and the various speed settings are perfect. I've used it regularly for years now and it is holding up fine. Sadly it looks as if this product might have been discontinued. I just picked up an extra to keep on the shelf in case my fan ever dies. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Perfect fan for the office Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this fan for my office cubicle, and it's quiet, circulates just the right amount of air, and has a small desktop footprint. If you're looking for a roaring wind and loud-ish white noise, this fan isn't your guy. However, if you want a breeze (for me, in my office space), then the task fan does the trick.
Customer Review: Great Fan! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great fan! It is small and quiet at low speed. I have never yet had a need for the high speed. At a distance of three feet the fan produces plenty of wind. The unit easily rotates up and down which allows for fine point aiming. On top of this the fan is a bargain.
