I bought this fan for my cubicle at work after reading several reviews stating it is very quiet. Perhaps mine is defective but it is NOT quiet: it develops an annoying clicking sound after about 30 minutes of operation. Also, it's a bit clunky for desktop use as it takes up 8-10" of cubic space. It does have 2 speeds and the high setting does produce strong airflow but directional options are limited and - again - it's simply too loud for an office setting where others are around. I wish I had returned it before my 30 days were up! It has been relocated to my husband's shop while I look for a replacement.Customer Review: Not a great purchase

I was really surprised by the lack of actual air issued by this little fan. I guess I could have been a little more careful to check the dimensions but I would expect that even a small fan such as this one could put out some type of air. I keep it now to dry my nail polish but it is not useful for anything else.
