After going through four towel holders in the past two years, I finally hit on the answer! This thing works great. The towels are easy to pull off but they don't keep unwinding. Especially nice for a motor home as the vibration in motion sometimes unrolls the towels. The only thing wrong with it is that it's not much to look at. But after a few towels roll off perfectly you'll forget about the way it looks!Customer Review: Someone finally built a better paper towel rack.

This paper towel rack is simply the best one made. I only wish other manufacturers made such great, inexpensive products.
1. It's well built (mostly metal parts). It has no flimsy "ears" to break.
2. Change out rolls in a second by simply sliding roll over spring-tension spindle.
3. Rolls are dispensed under slight ratchet tension (patented). ...no more wasted handfuls of towels.

The ratchet mechanism really does allow you to pull off one paper towel at a time. It is sturdy, easy to refill, and mount. I have purchased several paper towel holders in the past, and this one is by far the best. It allows you to mount it horizontally or vertically. It comes with the proper screws and pieces for mounting. It's a shiny silver, so it should look perfect in anyone's kitchen!Customer Review: Best Paper Towel Holder EVER

This is probably my favorite gadget in my entire kitchen. It works exactly how a paper towel holder should and I wonder why these don't come pre-installed in every house built.
I can't speak more highly of it. It dispenses paper towels quickly when you need it, without too much coming off and puddling on the counter. Hands free operation, easy to refill, and nice looking to boot.

I usually find paper towel holders to be rather annoying, as I have to grip the roll and the piece of paper towel I want just to ensure I don't pull a stream of paper towels. This holder is like magic. I grab a piece of paper towel, pull and rip like butter. If I need two pieces, I just pull a little further. It rolls smoothly but with just enough tension to keep me completely in control.
