I don't understand the 1-2 star ratings, this stuff works! I live in an area heavily populated with deer. They used to eat everything in my garden, even deer resistant plants. I tried everything, but the deer just cleaned out all my flowers and shrubs. I read about Liquid Fence and decided to give it a try. First off, the stuff STINKS.....BAD -- REALLY BAD -- REALLY REALLY BAD. But the smell is gone in a couple of hours. Used it one evening, sat back and waited. The deer came out, walked up to the plants - started to nibble and then stopped. The whole group just walked off. The next morning, all my lovely plants were still there and the area did not smell. Next evening, the deer came back, sniffed and kept walking! Again the next evening. By the fifth evening, they just skipped my house and kept on down the hill. I use it once a month and so far so good. Everyone has been complaining about deer in my area this year....not me, I have flowers (that I planted ONCE) for the first time in 17 years. I do recommend spraying this stuff in the evening (when everyone is done outside) and wear old clothing in case you get some one you - did I mention it really sticks? LOL. I have been using this stuff for 2+ years now and it is the ONLY thing that keeps my flowers, hostas and bushes from being nibbled to the ground by deer and rabbits.
Like others have said, wear gloves (and pants, not shorts), make sure it's not a windy day (unless you want your legs to smell like pee and garlic), and spray when can have your windows closed. I made the mistake of spraying the plants right near my bedroom window during a hot windy day and yes, it reeks! The smell does dissipate quickly and honestly, I don't care what it smells like if it protects my yard from being shredded.
Make sure you spray early and spray often. Rabbits and deer around hear seem to like the fresh, new growth on plants. So when you start seeing green coming up out of the ground, get spraying!
I use this for everything except my vegetables and to date, have had good luck. :)

I've tried many products that guarantee to keep deer away from the garden. However, this is the first product that actually does what it says. We've gone one month without a nibble in the garden or on the hostas around the house. I never knew my hostas could get so tall. No more crushed sedam where the deer decide to lay and nap.
I must warn you, that when spraying, make sure that you are not down wind! The odor is a mixture of hair perm and 10 week old hard boiled eggs. Ick!. But, once it dries you don't smell it, but the deer do. The only down side I can see, is with the hand sprayer that comes with the container. If you have a lot of area to cover, your hand gets rather tired. I will be using a better sprayer.

I have used this product for three years now, and nothing else comes close to repelling unwanted rabbits in my flower garden the way Liquid Fence does. (One fair warning though, for a few hours after applying, it will smell terrible! I suggest applying it when it is NOT windy, and with windows and doors closed. This may seem as a big downside to the product, but it is quickly disappated by the great deterent it provides.) Previously, I bought Liquid Fence at a local garden center, but they downsized their location, and no longer carry things of this nature. I was happy to find it online, and Amazon had the best price for value. Will buy from Amazon again!Customer Review: Love it

My cousin down in Jersey told me how this liquid fence keeps away the deer from her shrubs. I had a bunch of Apple trees out here in Pennsylvania and the deer always start to get at em around this time of year.
So I came here to Amazon, searched for it, bought it and after a little time it showed up at the house.. so i sprayed it around the base of all the trees. I still have apples and theres no tracks. Now we'll have some fresh apple pies for opening day.
