Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lodge Cast Iron Scrubber BrushCustomer Review: Very nice tool Summary: 5 Stars
If you get a cast-iron pan this is a must. It works great to clean it.
Customer Review: best yet for cleaning my lodge cast iron Summary: 4 Stars
I've used other brushes, scrubbies and cloths (including my own hand-knit) and this has been the best tool yet to clean my Lodge cast iron. I was kind of surprised because it didn't really look all that sturdy, but it's held up real well for over a year now. I soak down my pan (12" skillet) with water and then scrub away with this brush. Sometimes I use salt for extra scrubbing power, but not very often. I like the long handle and how well the brush head fits into the groove where the side of the skillet meets the base. I care for my brush by washing the bristles with that well-known blue dishwashing liquid, rinsing VERY well until no traces of soap remain, and hanging it back up to dry. I would have given it five stars if the brush were just a tad more stiff. Overall, very pleased with this item.
Customer Review: Cleans well, but holds a bit of water Summary: 4 Stars
Depending on whether you want your brush to hold water, you will like this cast iron scrub brush. It was specifically made for the lodge cast iron skillet and tops, which I ordered (the 12" versions). I like the fact that it has a long enough handle that you can avoid the grease and grime, but still have appropriate leverage to exert pressure as you scrub the caked-in things away.
Some people would rather just use the plastic scrubbers or even a brillo pad. I think this is a much better solution as it is gentler to the finish of your skillet, but still gets the thing clean with minimal fuss.
Customer Review: A good stiff one! Summary: 4 Stars
If you clean cast iron cookware (like my lodge cookware) you need a very stiff bristle to get the stuff off in very hot water. This Brush does pretty well but does flatten out in time. Another reviewer stated you could get the unbranded version anywhere but I shop many places and have looked but I dont see it in California anyway. I have tried brushes with less stiffness and they do not get the debris and free oil off the cast iron. If you cook with cast iron this is the brush for you.
Customer Review: Any brush would work Summary: 4 Stars
The scrubber brush works just as any other scrubber would work... I like it and I use and I'd buy another one, but it's not necessary (unless you don't have some sort of scrub brush already). I don't know if these bristles are different than regular ones though. Also, the brush head came off of the wooden handle within 2-weeks. I just super-glued it back on and it has been fine since.
