Customer Review: High quality timer switch

A month ago I decided that the bathroom fan in the master bathroom needed a timer switch to pull excess humidity out of the bathroom after showers so I installed a Leviton timer switch. The Leviton worked but it had two (very) bright green LED's that would light up the bathroom like a Christmas tree at night so we would have to keep the bathroom door shut at night, which was a real pain. I already had a Lutron dimmer switch in the dining room that I really love so I bought the Lutron MA-T51-WH hoping that the LED would be dim enough that it wouldn't keep us awake at night. Installation was a breeze and no neutral wire is needed (unlike the Leviton) and I much prefer the way the Lutron installs compared to the Leviton - it's much faster, cleaner, and neater. The switch itself is also much more aesthetic compared to the Leviton and the amber LED's of the Lutron are dim enough that you won't see them at night unless you have a direct view of the switch. The LED's on the Lutron switch indicate how much time is remaining before the switch powers off, something the Leviton does not do. When the switch is off one LED is lit indicating how long the fan (or light) will run before it powers off - it would have been nice to have a switch on the back so that during installation you could configure whether you want the LED on when the switch is turned off, but as I mentioned before it is dim enough that it will probably not disturb you at night.
